Why is this case languishing on the bench and not in the NBDL. I know Joe likes his guys to learn at practice, but at this point in the season he needs to play and not loose that muscle memory.

Good point... some of the thought proccess has been giving him a chance to learn the plays and practice against NBA talent.
He should know the position by now... I agree with the rust factor sitting in... it can make the best prospects slip through the cracks.

In the past they've shipped the rooks out while they had a West coast trip (no practice time).

I can understand the lack of PT b4 the deadline... all signs point to management genuinely liking what Summers brings.

Remember when Amir got sent to the NBDL, he liked it so much that he didn't want to come back to Detroit.

The team's POV seems to be that there isn't enough competition in the D-league to really make it's players better. That they learn more from playing in practice and being around the team full time.

I don't see any basis to argue against that.

Piston players get hurt getting out of bed on a daily basis....Joe wants to make sure that every able body is available at any given time frame....or he just doesn't want to develop him??

The main argument is that when the schedule gets busy (e.g., 5 games in 8 days), there aren't many team practices....so guys like Summers have to get in individual workouts with Arnie and assistant coaches.

I think Abdenour should be able to play some one on one with Summers...if that is the case I think he should stay.
