Lay it all down. Smack talk, predictions and news. Let me know if we should run a SB chat.
The Lions have succeeded in making me completely indifferent about pro football. I have never been less interested in the Super Bowl, but I gotta root for Dungy and the Colts...34-27.
I'm in the same boat as Detteam. The Lions have killed my love of football. That being said, I'm pulling for Da Bears, because I have read that they play crushing defense, and that's my favorite.
I thought it was just me who the Lions made turn away from football. Now I see in addition to myself, Linwood and Detteam fell the same way. Oh yeah, a guy named Barry Sanders would concur........ Anyway, got to go with the Colts, they are a team of destiny as they say, I have no idea what the score will be.
Add me to the list. I haven't turned away totally, but I really am thinking of finding a new team because I can't take it any longer. I've always liked the Chargers. Plus Tomlinson is awesome...
I was pullin for San Diego & LT to make it cuz the Chargers are the team I've been trying to adopt over the last few years.
OK, next season we both wear a San Diego Chargers avatar opening day.
For me, the final straw with the Lions (of many, many final straws) was the total neglect of shoulda-been-a-hall-of-famer Herman Moore. I watched in pain and agony as the Lions, who had decided to go West Coast Light-and-Fast looked off the sticky hands of Herman Moore just to pass to a triple covered Johnny Morton. <------ Me, yelling "he's wide open!"
Morton had 'the worm' thing goin on playing for the camera. Herman was an old time footballer...catch the ball and move on to the next play. Barry was the same outta the backfield. Roy should watch some old tape and learn to keep his finger down after his next catch...Detroit ain't Hollywood and don't wanna be.
Sounds good to me...the Chargers will make the Super Bowl next year...and the Lions will blow another top pick, go 4-12, and hang on to Millen.
I don't like Chicago. I don't like visiting there. I don't like the wind. Whenever I encounter a Chicagoan, I ask them, "Are you enjoying OUR lake?" I don't like the Blackhawks, hate the Bulls, hate Michael Jordan, I can barely stand the White Sox. Hate Ozzie Guillen. The Cubs are OK, but I think Cubs fans have to be nuts to keep spending money on tickets although I would definitely go to Wrigley Field if I had the chance. Be that as it may: Chicago's D gets it done. Bears 21, Colts 17
Gazoo, come out here in the summer... it's not so bad. The wind is overrated.
I refused to let the Lions kill my love for football. I have Directv with the football pkg. so I choose to laugh at the Lions and watch other teams play good football. I think the Colts will score early and run the Bears right out of Joe Robbie as Grossman throws pick after pick trying to play catch up. I think the game itself will suck but the party I go to every year is great and I know there will be some good commercials.
I wanna see some trick plays. Colts 22 Bears 20 P.S. if Colts can't hang on to the ball...two or more TOs, it's ova.
I should also say that I like Chicagoans for the most part.
I love Chicago, except that it's just too damn cold. Summers are beautiful though. I hate Indianapolis. First of all, it's in Indiana. Second of all... I don't think I really need a second of all. I would like to see the Bears completely shut down the fancy pants offense of the Colts. I don't have a prediction, but the game I would like to see is: Bears 14 Colts 3
I predict the Colts will win so I think the Bears will. If that doesn't make sense, just remember I haven't recovered from that college football championship yet.
On Sunday, it is supposed to be a low of 1 and a high of 11. Too bad the game isn't at Soldier Field. Getting hit by Urlacker and then hitting the frozen ground would not be a fun thing to repeat for 3 hours.
I say luck runs out on the overachieving Bears while the Colts show their dominance as Manning steps up. Colts 35 Bears 3.
