Superstarov's Fantasy Hockey

Man, I debated between picking up Patrick Sharp or Gary Roberts last night.

I ended up picking Sharp and he went 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 -1. Roberts had 2 PPA and a PPG today.

The other guy you grabbed did ok for you though. My two "rent a players" got nothing.

It comes down to one game tonight.

Sparky Anderson of the Tigers used to say that there is no pressure in the World Series. That's the fun part. The pressure is to win the championship series to get into the series. I think maybe he is right.

I'll be checking stat tracker all night. LOL.

Nothing wrong with 3rd place...but losing to Woody? If someone doesn't beat him we are gonna hear...

I've not learned how to play rent-a-player. NO wonder I have so few guys playing, and you all have guys all over the place. I'll learn how to do that for next year.

This year, I'll just have to go with the girls I brought to the dance.

As far as giving you a hard time all summer, I would'n do that.

Its not over yet my friend, there is still a period of hockey to play and as Bezeach learned last week, your team is deadly up to the final minute.

I'm glad we got to battle it out, and assuming I win, I know I was lucky to get by you. Your boys put up a hell of a fight. I was really nervous when you bombed me with SHGs and SHAs. Lucky for me my goaltenders woke up just on time.

Anyhow, you got some revenge by kicking my tail in the NCAA tourney.

I guess our next battle will be on the baseball diamond. Your team against my 12 shortstops.

I still can't believe I'm in the finals. Talk about luck!!

Do the finals last TWO weeks??? It looks like it from the dates on the brackets.

I don't think I can put up with Taters comments for that long. With his high-powered offense and air-tight goalies, I'm definitely at a big disadvantage.

I'll have to rely on superior cunning and management, as well as the weak level of competition, to pull out a victory.

Seriously Woody, our teams are even. Your group is scary. If I have an advantage, I sure don't see it. Brodeur by himself may beat me. The ONLY advantage I have over you is the fact that Roscoe wants you to win. He never gets his way.

Just remember, I'm in the fantasy baseball league with you guys this summer. I'll have many, many opportunities to talk smack. (And I probably will!!).

Between the 2 of us, we had ONE player playing tonight. And he posts a shutout.... for Roscoe.

Yeah, Turco might have saved me. Now I need my big guns to start producing. I'm considering making one of them a healthy scratch to send the team a wakeup call. Jagr has been dead weight for me for about a month now.

It's funny, but sometimes I really think stuff like that.:nerd2:

My goalies were incredible last night. Kipper won 1-0 in a shootout (Made me happy I drafted him #3 overall) and Nabokov only gave up one goal in a victory. Woody's guy Brodeur did well too.

Unfortunately, my scoring was almost non-existent and lucky for me, Woody's was nothing to write home about either so I'm up 7-5.

My guys had been red hot so I was expecting this. If they don't break out of it soon though, my hopes for another championship banner will be shattered.

I'm the number one seed, but really I think Woody is the favorite. For the year, he lead the league in more categories than anyone else. It's going to be a tough battle, but I'm just happy to be here. I know I would have had an equally tough road against Bezeach, Jammer or Roscoe.

Nice night was a great night for goalies across the league. I'm too lazy to count, but there were several SOs posted and a couple of 1 goal performances.

No wonder my offense did so crappy!
