Is this for real or did he quit on the pisont's like AI?? Really though, God speed on the recovery. We know for sure he needed the rest, but not that bad. The only plus is the team will have to learn to play without him. The coach is forced to play the Rooks!!

How will this affect the win/loss predictions.
    Could affect small luggage sales.

shame on you, damn f..ing shame on you. Tay is out at least half a year ( if diagnosis "ruptured disc" is correct) and you seem to be happy about it.

There is no adequate replacement for Tay - Daye every game vs starters 20-30 minutes: are you kidding me?

Q most probably has to play Rip at SF more than both like...or stuckey...

Already suspictions like "is he doing AI" are IMO beyound ridiculous...

Oh and Tay's salary still counts vc cap and (longterm) injuries always reduce trade values....

A ruptured disc is a lot more serious than a sore butt. I think any comparisons with AI are way off-base.

When did the injury happen? Did he get hurt in a game? I just heard that he was going to be out but nothing about the cause of the injury.

Dang. While I want to trade him, I darn sure hate that his health is in question. Truthfully this explains his poor play early on, with a spained toe and a sore back, he never stood a chance.

At least we should will have explored all backup SF options by the end of the year. Hopefully this doesn't affect Tay's long-term durability after he's back.

I knew it had to be bad if he didn't even attempt to play.

With Tay out, I'd like to see AD get a shot as the starting SF. Lately I've been as "Out The Box" as Lee has been in the pass concerning lineups, I'd actually like to see:
Stuckey / BenGo/ Daye / BigBen / JJ. That's alot of length and skill upfront, because Charlie V is best suited coming off the bench. When Rip comes back we could move BenGo back to the pine, can you imagine a bench unit of Bynum, Gordon and Villanueva.

There will be no trading Tay this year. A ruptured disc will probably mean the season for him. Tough break for the pistons and him.

I think Tay being out is to our advantage. It allows for more of the 3 guard lineup without sacrificing beef in the paint, and also gives our kids playing time, which they so badly need. When Rip comes back, we're going to need the minutes to field our guard hydra.

I think they should at least try and play CV at the 3 some now. Play him there with 2 of the gunning guards and some non scoring combo C/PF combo of Ben, Kwame, Max or (shuddering) Larry Wilcox.

Everyone would get to do what they do best.

I wonder how long he had a problem with his back but was forced to play 40+ minutes anyways.

This might be Stuckey's breakout season as a SF.

Rupturing or herniating a disk in your back can done suddenly, I believe. It does not have to be from overuse.

The Detroit media is doing a great job getting the info out about this story.
