Oh crap, Taychaun just went down during the game. Hope he's okay. He had to be helped by two trainers side by side supporting his shoulders. It looks like he landed one of his foot wrongly. It looks like he has a sprained ankle.

Hope it`s not serious. I posted in the FIBA thread about the possibilty of an injury.

The fatigue factor is not the concern!

If Taychaun misses any games when the season starts, that new kid the Piston just signed Jarvis Hayes is going to get more play time than previously thought. They brought him in as a backup for him or so I read.

ESPN didn't report anything more about Tay for the rest of the game, since they don't have any sideline reporters there. Hopefully we'll hear something tomorrow.

They said something during the game about a sprained ankle. So that probably is it for him and team USA.

Hopefully it's nothing. These guys probably get these minor injuries all the time in the offseason pickup games and we never hear about them.

I know Tay's selection was something of a surprise, so does that mean he may not be there for the Games? I would just hate to see him punish himself in the offseason and not get a shot at a gold medal...especially now that it finally means something again in basketball.

Isn't DWade going to take someone's spot for the olympics?

That's what I was thinking. Late additions like Wade would probably force Tay off the team.

Even though Prince played 5 minutes before spraining his ankle, he still outrebounded 8 different players on the USA roster.

The only guys who had more boards than him were Tyson Chandler, Carmello Anthony, and Amare Staudamire.

It's hard to believe, but true.

I hope DWade doesn't get a spot. He's not with the team from the get go. Other international teams spend years together so that they are a team and not a collection of the best players that play like strangers.

Wade is there though, he's just in street clothes.

But he's neither practicing nor playing with the team. He must be kept out for the greater good.

Anyway, this is a Tay thread. And looks like his injury shouldn't be too bad: "We had a lot of adversity tonight," said Coach Mike Krzyzewski. "Tayshaun [Prince] sprained his ankle and he might be out a day or two."
So, hopefully it is just a little bump on the road.

    He's made of rubber.

If this were the playoffs, he wouldn't even miss a game.

There is a reason why Tayshaun has had more minutes than the rest of the guys. Wade would take the spot of Mike Miller probably.

At least the ankle sprain wasn't one where he landed on someone else's foot, those are painful.

Yea, and the reason Tay is playing so much is that the USA is blowing teams out and the "scrubs" play tons of minutes. Yesterday, Amare Stoudamire was one of the "scrubs" getting garbage time in the 4th quarter of a 40-point blowout. Not bad depth for this squad. Tay is definitely on the bubble, but so is Tyson Chandler. He seems to be the 12th man right now.

That starting line up is just ridiculous.

I think it is probably the best 5 man combination possible of American players.

Tay is definitely a scrub on this team, but no shame in that.

It must be fun being Jason Kidd running the break with Kobe, Carmelo, LeBron, and Howard filling the lanes.

Even Billups is running a few fast breaks and making some nice passes. I think CB is better at running than Piston fans realize. You need to have the right guys around you.
