Good move, I guess. I'd definitely want this guy on my team, which is why I'm confused why he came back (other than the inability of any other team to offer as much money as the Pistons did).

I may be reading too much into it, but this seems something like an admission of wavering belief in Jerebko and Daye. Or maybe it's just simply retaining an asset rather than losing it for nothing. Lateral move.

It's a good day to be the Sales Rep responsible for providing the replacement lightbulbs for the shot clocks at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

I didn't want him back. I like him, but think that it is time to move on and give youngsters a chance.
Not a bad contract money wise.

I'm about as excited about this as I would be if they used that money to sign a 6th shooting guard.

They will buy him out after two years and turn him into an assistant coach. And I'm hoping this is a sign that Rip will soon be gone.

If Joe signs Rip to an extension of his current contract so he can't leave for nothing after the 2012-13 season I'm on the Joe wagon again.

I was hoping for a sign and trade if that was possible...new coach and new blood was needed, but at least he provides some stability.

    A corpse provides stability also.

That's a reasonable contract for Prince. I'm surprised he chose to stay here. I doubt there were no suitors. This could also mean that Daye is to be used as trade filler.

Not very excited with this news - I was hoping for a sign and trade. But he will be making less than CV for each of the next 3 years (some perspective).

The Tayshaun signing is a big letdown to a lot of us who wanted to use that little suitcase picture again.

He hasn't signed yet is all I can say. Can't do that until 12am tonight so maybe there still will be a sign and trade.

I absolutely do not want Tay to stay as a Piston, but at least $27 million for 4 years is pretty cheap.

hopefully...there is a plan to sign or trade players as needed, instead of just doing things willy-nilly.............

If he shoots off his mouth about the coach, he's not wanted. If he shuts up and plays, he is still one of the better players we have available.

So, no matter what offense Lawrence Frank wants to run, no matter how he coaches them, Tay and Rip will slow it down and dominate the ball and bounce it a lot and completely ruin the offensive flow on this team.

And, no matter how much the Pistons want to develop Austin Daye and work Gordon into a rhythm, the team will be overloaded at SF, and totally overloaded beyond belief at SG. Stuckey and Rip will see a lot of minutes at SF when they aren't playing SG. I suppose we'll see Knight work his way into the lineup.

And we might win enough games to kill our chances of adding a superstar in the 2012 draft.

I'm on record as saying this stinks to high heavens, UNLESS the plan is to trade Tay this season, and to trade Rip at the trade deadline, and to dump C.V., who absolutely should have no role on this team.
