I agreed with all of this until you got to CV, which raised my dandruff
CV gives you dandruff?
I just figured we'd go with the youth this season. I've been hoping that for awhile now.
I now figure that they'll just try to sign Billups, now that the Knicks said good bye to him...
Actually, I think we are safe in this department. The tanking starts on Christmas.
Actually, it's the day after Christmas
By bringing the exact same team back after the lockout the Pistons might have an edge in chemistry if they didn't hate each other.
The contract is good. It's about the same as these guys are due to make this year: Rasheed Wallace, Travis Outlaw, Barbosa, Villanueva, Posey, Hinrich, Tryrus Thomas, Jameer Nelson, Brendan Haywood, Andre Miller, Oden, Metta World Peace, and Gortat.
Tay seems like he'd be in the top 25% of this class. A lot of bench players/ 6th men. I still maintain he's a good guy too and wouldn't be surprised if he is showing some loyalty to JD (i.e. maybe he could have got more to move?)
Who knows, maybe it's just a S&T.
First up, just want to say I'm happy to be back talking basketball again!
Still relatively new to it all so don't know much about trades, but I would of thought despite a decent sized contract, the length would put teams off trading for him at 31? I know he has been ultra-durable but who's not to say that begins to count against him in his latter years.
7 million a year for 4 years? Hope he's worth it. That contract might be a boat anchor in a few years.
Rasheed Wallace hasn't retired yet?
Then bring Sheed out of retirement as well. That's a straight shot to the 6th game of ECF.
And how long have we been waiting for that to happen. I'm done pretending like Joe is actually going to DO something to HELP make this team better.
Why are we signing Tay to a 4 year deal? We have no flexiablity. If Tay was the only one left from the 2004 team and we got rid of RIP and Ben then I can live with him as the vet on team on a 2 year contract. However we have all them on the roster and it would not surprise me if Chauncey comes back. EPIC FAIL
Well, apparently we are dumping Rip. Big Ben is as good as gone anyways. So, Tay is going to be the only leftover from 2004. Do you feel better about the Tay signing now?
If it was a 2 year deal I would feel more better and if the money was less than 7 mill a season. He should have been signed to a 2 year 11 million dollar contract.
Now you're just nick-picking, his deal is less than $7 mill/yr, and I can live with a 4 year deal. I'm not as irritated with re-signing Tay with Rip leaving.
I would be worried if I were Daye. This is as clear of a vote-of-no-confidence as it gets.
Heck, Grant Hill got $6.5 mil
It has been observed that the team held practice today with Lawrence conducting. It was also observed that Tay did not participate, whereas he merely observed. Perhaps an analogy: one sets the stage and the other sets the chorus.
Tay hasn't signed in time to practice
