It doesn't end until Monday, so don't bet the Lions this Sunday ;)

The real curse is the Owner. Chanting and burning are appropriate also for that curse. Swearing helps also..

Sirius Radio guys where doing coincidences involving the Lions. Things like Millen was fired to the day of the 50 year anniversary. Guys dying on the field etc.

This Bobby Layne thing is not a curse, it's an excuse.

    An excuse based in reality.

    Exactly

    The Playoff Record

    The Coaches

    The Humiliations

    The Disasters

When you factor in all the promising college quarterbacks (Layne's position) that have failed after being drafted by the Lions, the curse idea holds a lot of merit.

Let's just hope the Lions don't play Drew Stanton for his first regular season NFL minutes tomorrow :fingerscr

Now you know how tough Wayno was, he won a P/O game against the curse.

It was interesting to read the links pertaining to the curse. Still think the curse gives Ford something to hide behind. That's why he's never commented on it...

After the calls today, apparently the curse isn't over yet.

A new curse has begun. The Curse of the NFL Referee.

I can't count the # of times over the years that I've seen the Lions get burned on phantom calls, challenges, etc.

I know it happens to every team, but man, it sure seems like the Lions get the short end of the stick more often than not.

As for the challenges, there have been so many times that what appears to be a call clearly in the Lions favour based on the replays, goes against them. Even the commentators side with the Lions.

This organization just can't catch a break. Good teams can over come stuff like that, the Lions can't.

    I don't know...

The Vikes had 383 offensive yards. Lions had 212 yards.

Vikes had 17 first downs. Lions only had 6 first downs...(yikes)

Vikes posessed the ball 7 more minutes than the Lions.

I think the refs put us out of our MISERY...

    I agree.

At least they played better than the last 4 weeks. In the grand scheme of things, the loss may help.

Bobby Layne curse? LOL. Yeah, I think I saw his spirit push Orlovsky behind the white line on that safety. That's basic football. Sheesh! :pound: Curse indeed...:pound::pound:

You're right. The defense showed up and played big.
Giving up only 12 points is a good game for most defenses.

I love how absolutely oblivious he was to where he was on the field. He took like 6 consecutive steps out of bounds without even cluing in. :frusty::frusty::frusty:

Dude, it was third down. You had 2 other downs to realize where you were. I don't really think you have room for a 12 yard drop back and roll out on the goal line.

And it wasn't like he just barely had a part of his toe out of bounds. Dude was WAAAAY out of bounds.

I wish they would play Stanton. I guarantee he wouldn't have done that.

And as bad as the O-line is we need to play a QB that can RUN! :outtahere:

I agree. As bad as our O-Line is we NEED a QB that can run to a) avoid the rush and b) cause the rush to delay just that fraction of a second knowing that the QB is a threat to run.

Kitna and Orlovsky are not threats to run. Defense can T off on them knowing that they're sitting ducks. A QB that can run causes the D to think and act differently.

With a scrambling QB, the D ends have to worry about containing the end so they can't take as direct a line to the QB (buys the QB more time in the pocket) and the RB an extra second to react. A scrambling QB adds a 3rd element that LBs have to worry about. At the snap of the ball, they have to determine if it is a run or pass first. If it's a pass, they then have to worry about covering the receivers or "spying" the QB.

I came out of movie and checked my Blackberry and much to my surprise the score said 10-9 Lions leading with 2 mins left in the game. I said this is the Lions, they will find a way to lose even it was a t point lead with 1 minute left. Sure enough when I got home, the score flashed across my TV screen, 12-10 Vikes over the Lions....

Just like the Wolverines, they were victimized by a last minute FG.

New poll, which team in SE Michigan will win the most games this year?

All three teams are offensively challenged and each held a half time leads this weekend and lost by a combined 9 points.

    Lions 0-5
    EMU 2-5
    Mich 2-4
