Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni was arrested early this morning on suspicion of drunk driving.

Nocioni, 29, was arrested by Sacramento Police and booked into Sacramento County Jail at 3:30 a.m., a posting on the Sacramento County Jail Web site shows. He was released this morning on $1,482 bail.

A Sacramento police spokesman said that at about 2 a.m. an officer noticed a motorist southbound on 15th Street near L Street whose vehicle was weaving within its lane. The car turned and headed west on L Street and was stopped by the officer near Ninth and L streets.

detteam, this is a brilliant thread idea. I'm surprised no one thought of it sooner as we have such use for it in the NBA, eh? Too bad, Noci is one of my favorite bench guys since he was a Bull but it looks like there might be a suspension so I'm glad someone else grabbed him before I could on my fantasy teams.

Utah police officer resigns following DUI : DUIAttorney.com

An officer in the Midvale Police Department resigned yesterday following public outcries over his alleged DUI accident.

The accident occurred Sunday around 1AM. Police received calls about a car involved in a hit-and-run of parked vehicles. The accident caused one car to hit another, and continuing on, so three cars in total sustained damage. The Dodge Charger reported was actually an unmarked police car.

There were no injuries from the accident. The resignation came as a surprise seeing as the officer was off-duty and no one was injured in the accident. Salazar's personal disappointment seems to be the cause of the resignation as his superiors did not comment on the case or request his resignation.

Ouch.

Lot of news out of Sactown in the last 24 hours beside the DUI. Mason got waived, Udoka got signed, and Kmart could be out 6-8 weeks.

And Garcia is out until February. They can't seem to catch a break out there (no pun intended). Is it something in the water?

The Timberwolves accepted center Al Jefferson's apology on Sunday for alleged drunken driving after Saturday night's loss to Portland, but they suspended their leading scorer for the next two games as punishment.

Jefferson was arrested on Interstate 394 just outside downtown Minneapolis at 1:08 a.m. Sunday, a little more than three hours after he scored 19 points in the Wolves' 110-91 loss, and booked into jail on a charge of fourth-degree driving while impaired, said State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske.

Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni suspended 2 games by NBA - ESPN

Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni has been suspended by the NBA for two games without pay after pleading no contest in California to drunken driving.

The suspension was to begin with Tuesday night's game between the Kings and the Thunder in Oklahoma City.

Nocioni was arrested about 2 a.m. Nov. 5 when a police officer noticed his car weaving in downtown Sacramento, hours after the Kings had lost a home game to the Atlanta Hawks.

An attorney entered a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge on Nocioni's behalf on Feb. 22.

As part of his sentence, Nocioni will serve two days in a work program operated by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. He also must complete a three-month alcohol class, pay a $480 fine and court penalties and serve three years' probation.

His wrists must hurt from that slap.
