Interesting article.. Scholars and Rogues » The NBA: where will “fixed” happen this year?
Have I mentioned that "I Hate the NBA" yet today?
How ironic, a picture of Joey Crawawful. I really hope the owners of the NBA OR SOMEONE PLZ can impeach Stern.
Watching Game 7 of the Orlando/Boston series, Stern was laughing every time the Celtics got called for a foul. He wants the Cavs to play the Lakers for more ratings on the NBA Finals.
Between Cleveland and Orlando, which is the bigger market?
The announcers never like to tell it like it is....howard was fouled before the freakin ball was in the air....incredible
This is the key point:
Yeah I think blogs like ours put too much light on the dark side of the NBA. If the fix is still in they are working it to perfection. Lakers tied and Bron losing. I do think the refs kept Den. in game 4 from the 1st Q to late in the 3rd Q. ...I wonder how the media will play it when they see Karl, CB, Melo trump Jackson, Kobe, Gasol. And Magic beating Cavs !! We owned the Magic. Man, did JD shoot us in the foot.
Orlando?? They do got Universal Studios and Walt Disney World.
The local market I'm guessing is bigger in Orlando, but Lebron has way more groupies nationwide and worldwide.
Speaking of fixes... Former NBA ref Donaghy attacked in Fla. prison - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
He had a moment of weakness and got trapped. Plain and simple. Hopefully he won't get got before he has a chance to get out of prison.
Fix his leg? Fix his mental state? Fix his buddy system... EDIT: I want to buy and read that book!
It really sucks getting beat up in minimum security prison.
If there is fixing going on then why does almost every Finals series rarely go past 6 games? One would think that if they were going to fix anything then they would try to extend the largest revenue maker of the year.
Maybe because they suck and they can't even do that right???
I agree with TaS. Don't assume because they fail that they aren't trying. In fact, a lot of time when people try to intervene, they create results opposite of their goals.
In all honesty, none of these games appear fixed to me. Both sides are getting calls that they wouldn't get if it were truly fixed one way or another. It just looks like bad reffing to me. Maybe one ref is fixing it for the Lakers while the other is fixing it for the Magic? That would explain the results pretty well.
I wonder if Tim Donaughey is Pisces. I wonder if he has met anyone that goes ape-s... for Chuck Maggioni.
