Regardless of anyone's stance on the guy, there is significantly scant information to go on. Like it or not, he is considered a project. Teams like the Clippers and Thunder can afford to take chances on guys like that, hence why they sent scouts to check him out. None of the teams picking in the top 10 did - including Detroit. That's a pretty big indication that he is not on their radar currently. Things may change down the track when more is known (and he has a passport).

As of now we aren't drafting him, so there's not much point in anyone getting worked up about it. To be honest I'm not quite sure the obsession all of a sudden out of all the possible guys we could draft. My personal opinion is I wouldn't be comfortable drafting him at 5 or 6 with the information we currently have.

"Dumards" would be the last guy in on Earth to take that guy with his early pick. I mean the LAST guy.

I liked Melo more than Darko. Joe Johnson more than Rodney White. Monroe more than Epke Udoh. Drummond more than Thomas Robinson.

Did you ever like anyone projected outside of the top ten better than everyone in the top ten?

Has there ever been this mediocre of a top 10? Seriously, this draft is unique in the sense that the 20th picked player could be almost as talented as the 10th.

*Also, Chad Ford said he could end up going as high as sixth.

On Chad Ford's Mock Draft from last Tuesday, your Greek guy was NOT DRAFTED IN THE 1ST ROUND.

In Chad Ford's Top 100 Board, your Greek guy is currently ranked #60.

And you want to take him #1 overall?

Danny Ainge is the only GM that's been out to Greece to see him thus far. He said that he reminded him of a "young Scottie Pippen." He had 33pts, 18reb, 5ast, 4stl in their league championship game (remember, mid-major level competition). The dude's been in hiding as an undocumented immigrant his entire life. He's as under the radar as it gets. I'd be surprised if he ends up outside of the lottery. Other GMs will get out and see him.

Why would you draft him when you could just draft somebody else and then trade for him plus more draft picks?

Because apparantly this is the hybrid MJ/LBJ/Wilt we have all been waiting for, hiding in an 85kg beanpole with a shaky jumper.

    Who would have seen it?

I may be having delusions here, but I can distinctly remember you whinging about Oladipo's poor shot.

This guy also has poor mechanics, and a low release point. Its going to be block city, and the view there sucks.

Wasn't that a best case guess for Drummond this year? He wasn't expected to play at all (post-draft/pre-pre-season) at the start of the year and it was hoped he could "develop" as the season progressed.

He exceeded his expectations. Maybe this kid will too? He's just as young. Straight out of school KG would.

Yea, you wouldn't want to risk it. I would mortgage the future of the franchise to move up to #1 so you're guaranteed to get the beanpole.

Oladipo is 6-3 and won't even be able to guard half of the two's in the league.

His shot's not that bad.. it goes in the hoop. Mechanics he's still working out, all-around. Hasn't been pla
ying organized basketball very long. He was born in Nigeria. His family fled to Greece. He was living in hiding his entire life until a talent scout noticed him on a bicycle ride a few years ago. He's 19. He's 6-10 with a 7-4 wing-span. Let's place a bet on how many point attempts he has blocked in his first NBA season.
