Until Monroe develops and the Pistons get at least one other true PF/C we'll have a ridiculously unbalanced roster. It's infuriating to have to wait for that - but what choice does Joe really have? He's got to be patient and wait for the right deal.
Wow! That's a good pickup. They beat Orlando the first time they played them and that was their only quality win I guess. Team USA redux.
T-Mac agrees that something is amiss. AND WILL NOT GET BETTER.. Tracy McGrady: LeBron and Wade look 'terrible' together - Ball Don't Lie - NBA% - Yahoo! Sports
Did everyone see Lecrab's shoulder charge on Spoelstra? Kuester's head would be spinning like a top if Stuckey or someone did that to him. LeBron's legacy gets more damaged by the minute. Regardless of how many individual accolades he receives over the course of his career, he will never be remembered as a winner. YouTube - Lebron bumping coach Spoelstra vs Mavs 11/27/10 The annoying thing is how does Pat Riley get off scott-free from this whole thing? He was the one who assembled this 'roster' and handed it to Spoelstra and said 'Here you go, make it work.' Now he just gets to sit back and lay it all on Spoelstra's feet if it doesn't work. Another classic example of the buck stopping with the coach while the GM and players wash their hands clean (sound familiar?). Whatever, I'm still enjoying the Lukewarm's struggles.
I think this drama is over. There is simply way too much talent for this team to not dominate. Once they start clicking, Miami will be crushing teams regularly. LeBron James, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra have pregame meeting - ESPN
I agree. I give them another ten games until the chemistry kicks in, or the embarrassment of losing overrides their egos and they begin to work together.
Basketball-reference.com takes a look at the Heat. An interesting aspect of the stats is that it seems like the most criticized player, Bosh, is the one showing the best stats compared to his earlier and the least criticized player, Wade, is the one whos underperforming the most. I disagree. I see a lot AI with the Pistons similarities when I watch the Heat. I don't think Wade and James can flourish together because they both want to do the same things. It is kind of ridiculous, but the Heat are better off having James or Wade sit at the end of games and letting the other so their thing. The thought before the season started was that James would be liberated by not having to score so much, but he hasn't shown much inclination to give that up. The Heat have rebounding problems and LBJ could help, but he doesn't seem interested in that. Wade is the same way. With both of them there they should have more energy to play some D, but that seems to be for someone else. If it doesn't lead to a breakaway dunk it is not coming from these two. In time The Decision might turn out to be the best part of LBJ's free agent process.
Miami's got similar problems to what the Pistons have - they don't have a legit center (Z is too old to be that now) or PF. Haslem's loss was huge, but even with him, they just aren't big enough. Miami has also got major PG problems. That's something the Pistons aren't struggling with. Anyone notice that Stuckey's PER is in the top 10 in the league now (ahead of Rondo)?
Dampier looked pretty ok yesterday (if i'm not mixing up days). By no means a great center but he grabbed a bunch of rebounds and looked decent in defense.
Damp has always been a quality center, he was just never worth the 60 mil or whatever the Mav's gave him after his pre-free agency season. He's a big body, decent footwork, and relatively athletic for a 7'0. I think between him and Big Z, they could be alright at C, but like mentioned before, they need more rebounding out of Lebron and Wade...
I want a 40 point game from LeBron tonight. And a blowout. A massive blowout. Home games against Miami are the only relevant games Cleveland will be playing for years.
This was fun to read. The writer begs Cleveland to behave so that Lebarf doesn't become the victim in the public's eyes. Cleveland, don't turn LeBron into sympathetic victim - NBA - CBSSports.com Basketball
Cripe, everyone talking about Lebron, but what about Big Z abandoning Cleveland? He was the savior before Lebron showed up. Cleveland gave Big Z way more money than anyone else would have, and he walked away just as well.
