Not certain of what the rotations should be, but I'm believing that less of Nate is a good thing. And if the Hoopshype rumor is true, Stevie getting bought out can't be a bad thing. Then, in typical Zeke fashion, CWeb's name comes up!
Zekes have lost that magic feeling. They've lost the last 2 games by 2 points total. 1-17, @ Wash 99, NYK 98 1-19, @ NYK 100, NJN 101 I think they would be in 1st place if they would've won those. ---------from Fox Sports-------- Atlantic ------- W L PCT GB Home Road DIV CONF L10 Streak Nets - 19 20 .487 0.0 12-10 7-10 5-21 5-9 8 -2 W3 Raptors 19 22 .463 1.0 11-7 8-15 6-21 3-8 6-4 L1 Knicks -17 24 .415 3.0 10-12 7-12 2-5 10-15 4-6 L2 Celtics -12 26 .316 6.5 4-14 8-12 4-5 8-16 2-8 L6 76ers - 11 29 .275 8.5 6-9 5-20 2-5 8-16 3-7
A: The point is, bad management always rips off the paying customer seated courtside or watching at home because that's how companies compensate when profit erodes. Cablevision, whose chairman is viperlike plutocrat James Dolan, owns the team, and the company's stock went from about $80 a share in the late 1990s to $10 a share a few years ago. Guess who paid the price? Subscribers, of course. Or consider the saps who've forked over as much as $2,500 per night over the past five years for a front-row seat. So, you ask why the Knicks are included in this salute to sports management folly? These guys have more than a half-decade of bad karma to burn off before we acknowledge that they're "not all that bad."
They actually looked like a decent coached team last night because they kept feeding their big man (Curry) and you couldn't necessarily have said that in the past. Zeke maybe saving his job for another season, I just don't see how they will ever be anything more than a barely making the playoffs team until they get a real coach and GM in there.
Yeah their karma turned as they beat Indy by 2 pts. Zeke has good players so they will make him look good. He just has to avoid brawling etc. I'm watching Zeke with a microscope.
I saw the Knicks beat up on the Sonics from just behind the Knicks bench. For that game, Zeke was a great coach. They destroyed the Sonics by feeding Curry in the first half. When the Sonics adjusted, they patiently fed Curry, who would then kick it back out to the open player (usually Crawford) for an easy jumpshot. They played the game perfectly, Zeke took a timeout anytime the Sonics thought about a run. The Knicks looked awesome. They came out, knocked the Sonics down, put their foot on Seattle's throat, and never let up the whole game. Of course, it was only one game.... and it was the Sonics.
Not a good performance for the Zekes last night at Miami, to put it mildly. The Heat went on a 27-0 (!) run in the first quarter, and the Knicks ended up losing by 18. What makes it much worse is that Wade had tweaked his ankle against the Mavs on Sunday and decided to sit this one out, so the Heat were once again Shaq-less AND Wade-less, but still went to town on the hapless Knicks.
that is a pretty impressive surge. I was very surpised to see that the Knicks were able to make a game out of it. How is Curry such a poor rebounder? 27 points and only 3 rebounds last night? You would think that a big bodied Center would have at least 5 fall into his lap with heavy minutes. He must not care about getting position in the least.
The Heat are to Knicks as Pacers are to the Pistons. Better not brawl. J. Rome went off on Zeke for that lost, on JR is Burning. He's missing the whole picture. I should call him up and tell him.
One of the best Rome-Zeke interviews: Rome does all the buildup, then intros Zeke as his guest: Isiah comes on and says his bro-in-law says he shouldn't go on the Rome program because Jim's been dogging him. Rome: "Awww, Zeke, it's all good. You're still my man." Also love the Red Lobster thing.
Laugh at Zeke, hate Larry Brown, despise Stephon Marbury but the Knicks are still #1 where it counts. Franchise value. Sports Desk - January 26, 2007 - The New York Sun
If I remember correctly Detroit Pistons were #1 in value only a few years ago. Those numbers quoted can be so arbitrary depending on whose cooking the numbers. Gross revenue after expenses looks like +$26mil.
Big win over the Lakers last nite. I could've sworn I heard the MSG crowd chanting "DEFENSE". Finally they could release on a team they hate more than these Knicks. Might be a turning point for the Zekes.
