I'm holding out hope that Frank is just a rumor since nothing has been announced officially.

It would be interesting to know Gores thoughts after reading Foster's articles since he probably doesn't read this board

Frank or Laimbeer were my guys so I'm happy with this hire.

I remember when Jason Kidd took over the head coaching job for the Nets after he fired Byron Scott. That's where puppet coach got his start.

Not the guy I was hoping for and I don't know why they would want to hire someone who has had respect issues with the players in the past.

Good news is that they actually hired someone ( did not wait until the lockout ended ).

He can't possibly be worse than Q.

Is the Checkets now the defacto GM? What is up with Gores hiring a consultant when that should be the GM's job.

I guess I'm good with Little Larry Frank. I'd like to see him bring someone on board the coaching staff with some Piston DNA...maybe Laimbeer of Rufus Henry...someone like that.

If I was Laimbeer and got offered an assistant job under Frank I'd tell Gores to eff off.

On the other hand, I think Rufus would be a great addition to the staff

Rufus Henry is under contract to coach the Denver Squirrels of the PF .com Novice Fantasy Basketball League. I have not granted the Pistons (or any team for that matter) permission to speak with coach Henry about any coaching vacancies.

Please find some other name to populate your list of speculative candidates sir. Have a nice day.

No doubt. Dumars' power has been undermined. I'm sure Gores' staff compared all of the potential coaches using bar graphs, column charts, and PowerPoint slide shows.

Ah, RHenry don't need no permission to advance his illustrious career Ballz.
Dumars never say squat to any coach, after the hire, did he ?
It would be fantastic for LFrank to hire BLbeer, Dre.
Looking back, the Carlisle firing was a mistake.

I like the Frank hire. If he wants to use Laimbeer (the REAL ONE), I'm good with that.

We all knew Dumars was in trouble. I just did not expect it to be a slow death spread over a season or 2. Dumars must have a couple of years left on a guaranteed contract or something. Or maybe JD really wanted Frank too.

There is no way that Frank hires an assistant coach that the majority of the fans want to see as the head coach. That would be putting way too much pressure on himself when he knows he has 2 years of rebuilding coming up (and certain struggles record-wise).

I thought Dumars really wanted Woodson.

I'm ok with Frank. Hopefully he has learnt a great deal in Boston and is able to have a Thibodeau-like impact.

Good Hire! Frank had a decent freshman run in NJ, nothing spectacular but he cut his teeth and didn't fall on his face. I think he's learned, I think he's smarter and I think he'll be a good coach. I wonder what Lee will call him?

It's a good sign that Thorn is still endorsing him.
