Frank is in the middle of his quest for assistants.

He sounds self aware and that's a good thing.

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't interview at least 35 candidates.

I'll be disappointed if Darrell Walker and Pat Sullivan aren't somehow part of the mix.

I'd like to see Gar Heard and Herb Brown in the mix.

Out with the old at this point. Neither had an affect on Kuesters decisions or team play so go with Laimbeer, Ewing and our Lee 356:MusicBigGrin:

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't hire at least 24 candidates...

It looks like Pat Sullivan is out as a Piston assistant coach. I also have not seen Darrell Walkers name mentioned anywhere as a canidate.

I don't see how this type of turmoil can be good for the team. They need stability. What kind of shop is Gores' running?

This news (and most in any other NBA news) is so quiet these days. I saw the headline "Frank hires his 3rd assistant" and my thought was "He already hired 2 others?".

I'm wondering how the loss of Pat Sullivan could impact this team. Was he the "glue guy" on the coaching staff?

We may not know the answer for years. I only hope this clears a way for Herb Brown to return.

I'd also like to point out that I got these stories off the Det News app for the iPhone. I like the app because after selecting Sports you have to scroll through the list of Det sports teams and it reminds me of spinning the wheel in the Showcase Showdown on The Price is Right.

It is a lot of fun.

He certainly was the "glue guy" of the coaching staff. Whenever one of the other coaches was too busy to take the halftime hallway interview, Sullivan was there every time. He even benched a player one time when the head of security wasn't available to deliver the news. Good luck to the guy trying to fill Sullivan's shoes.

How did Dee Brown ever get into coaching?
When I think of him as a player, the words "coach on the floor" or "smart player" don't really leap to the front of my mind.
    I'd have gone with Sheed.

I'd like to be the first to provide the nickname "Dead Cowboy" to Roy Rogers. Welcome aboard coach!

Brown has quite a resume to his name. That penny pincher Gores might have found his replacement for both Frank and Dumars at an assistants salary.

Plus he can mentor Stuckey for the dunk contest.

I met Dee Brown once at a bar in Boston. He was very nice and might be a natural fit as lead halftime interviewee.

Thanks, it's good to be back.

I'm on vacation in HI now so I've been getting to stuff late. My work Internet time has been badly disrupted also.
