I don't like the Patriots. I do like the Colts.

But I have to agree with Jammer (that really hurts) that as of today, in my opinion, the Patriots are the best team in football. The Colts are #2.

If the Colts beat the Pats, I'll happily change my view.

    That is correct.

Bristol Ct is a suburb of MA. LOL

There aren't any major league teams in any sport in Bristol.

Bristol Ct is a suburb of MA

    Exactly,

The Colts won the last Super Bowl. No one has beaten them since. They are #1 until someone beats them.

The Pats will probably have two chances to beat the Colts this year, including one in the playoffs.

The Colts have beaten the Pats the last 3 times that they have played and the Colts are the undefeated Super Bowl champs half way through the following season.

So the Colts are #1 until they are beaten.

Beating up on dog teams and cheating to do it does not make you #1 when you haven't beaten the undefeated Super Bowl champs in over a year.

If the Pats win next week then they will be the best team in the league on Nov 5th.

Pats fans are already lining up the excuses for next week. One announcer said well yes the Colts beat the Pats last year, but then we have to remember that if the Pats receivers hadn't dropped a couple of passes things may have been different.

I expect to hear and read many of those from Pats fans starting even during the game next week and continuing on at least until the Colts and Pats meet in the playoffs this year.

Because you flat out don't rank a person or team #1 until they beat the defending champ.

Think in the terms of boxing. It's ridiculous to rank a guy #1 before he ever comes face to face with the champ.

Technically, even next week is nothing close to a title fight; however, if the Patriots were to pull one out in Indy I would at least understand it when folks decide to rank them #1.

Before then...... I can't get behind the logic at all.

I agree with your post, but think about this...........

The Colts have won 7 in a row this season and are undefeated.........
The Colts have won their last 12 games that they've played.........
The Colts have beaten the Patriots the last 3 games.......
The Colts are the Super Bowl Champs........
The Colts will play the Patriots at their home stadium......

However, The Patriots are favored for this game..........:gun1:

    Can you say......."Who's your daddy".........

We will find out in less than 24 hours who will be eating dog meat. The Pats have beaten the line every game this year and they probably will be favored by a TD at game time tomorrow.

The bookies and betting establishments are going to get there money back tomorrow that they have lost on the Pats all this year.

    Final tomrrow

    Colts 31 and Pats 17

    cheers

So? What does that mean? other than those who bet on the Pats tomorrow will lose their shirts for the first time this year.

Its due primarily to the ESPN hype. ESPN always hypes the Boston teams. Since a lot of sports fans get most of their sports from ESPN a great majority of them go along with what ESPN says.

Tomorrow is a big game in that it could be the only loss that either teams sustains this year during the regular season, and if that is the case then tomorrows winner will have the home field advantage for the AFC championship game which will most likely be the the Colts and Pats again like it was last year.

Even though I am a Colts fan I know that Manning has basically never beaten the Pats in New England in the dead of winter. On top of that in the past these games have for some strange reason been held at night which is even worse weather to play in in the middle of winter up in New England.

Even though Manning has changed his approach to his play calling over the years the Colts are built primarily for speed more than any other team in the NFL and as a result they get hurt more than anyone else when they have to play on a snow/ice covered field in 30 degree temperatures.

This is even more true of the Colts defense than it is of their offense.

Well it was a struggle for the Pats, but they did prove that they could come back and win the big game when needed and should be number one in EVERYBODYS poll right now.

Kind of reminded me of the M/MSU game yesterda with the favored team being down 10 on te road and coming back with two TDs down the stretch to silence the home crowd. Cool Mre Brady ...Like the camera kept getting in Mannings face everytime the Pats got a big gainer or score.

C'mon, Marvin Harrison was out. No way the Pats win with him playing. :)

The Patriots just performed the equivalent of walking into the ICU and punching Mike Tyson in the face as he's recovering from surgery.

    Sure...that makes them #1.

They were lucky to leave RCA with a win, and the Colts were fighting with one arm tied behind their backs.

Sure, going into the 8-0 Defending Champions' home and beating them is exactly like that.
