OMG, without Laimbeer and that dimwit Malhorn coaching, the Shocks has become the mirror image of the Pistons previous season. There's no accountability at anyone. Katie Smith has become the Swin Cash during her last season with the Shocks. I mean every time she'd touches the ball there's a 3 in 4 chances she'll turn it over or misses her shot. I'm sorry but after tonight's game against the Storms which the Shocks loss, I am done with the WNBA. Yes I watches WNBA during the summer! :pound:

Laimbeer knew what he was doing getting out. The Shock aren't an elite team anymore. They fit in the middle of the pack somewhere, irregardless of the coach.

A lot of close losses that probably would have been wins with Laimbeer at the helm. Missing him and Plenette Pierson have left the Shock in last place where the teams occupying the 2-5 slots are all .500 teams. With Laimbeer coaching they would certainly be in second place behind Indiana.

If Joe hung Laimbeer out to dry by not even giving him a formal interview, then Bill certainly did the same to the Shock by leaving them in a lurch without capable direction:stirthepot:

Maybe Bill and Joe don't get along and Bill was just hanging there in the wings so that the other Bill would eventually give him a chance. Now that the other Bill is gone, Bill figured that Joe would never hire him and so he put himself on the general market... to no avail.

Who's within the Pistons organization can fire Joe D now? I mean this coming 2009-2010 season is his last chance to recover any credibility left as a GM. 2004 was a masterpiece but then again the Lakers was pathetic at that point so I wonder if the Pistons would have won it if Bryan and O'Neil weren't fighting like a married couple.

The segment on ESPN this past Sunday indicated that the passing of Chuck Daly has also hurt Bill as Daly had a lot of influence/respect around the league with the GM's and could have gotten more of them to give Bill a looksey..

One thing for certain, we better not hear any rumblings about lets make Mahorn the coach if Kuenster doesn't work out:)

Wondering if Bill would consider going back to the Shock next season if he doesn't get even an assistant coaching job in the NBA by mid season???:sssh:

I always thought the team's name was plural like the Pistons. Who knew. :pound:

No he's done with the WNBA. The Shock is done as of right now and the players will probably be traded off by bits and pieces like the Pistons. It's time to blow it up.

So what do you think prevented the Pistons from a repeat after the 2004 Championship? :stirthepot:

Stuff happens. The Spurs beat us. The Lakers didn't. Just don't give me that crybaby excuse that LA fans had to tell themselves so they could sleep at night after getting OWNED by the 2004 squad.

The Shock job should be a prerequisite to coaching the Pistons.

Even the team's captain has thrown in the towel from this article from the Shock's website.

    SHOCK: Nowhere Near Finished

I think it's good that the Shock is playing the way they are to show that they are human and also not be a hog with Championship every year. Time to let other team have a taste. My money on winning it all this year could be the Indiana Fever but somehow the Atlanta Dream will steal it under them. Atlanta Dream is where the Shock was before the 2003's Championship.

Perhaps Laimbeer saw that the team was getting old and wanted to leave on top?
