Maybe Dan Gilbert will buy the team.

I think the fact that the stadium (I'm assuming) will go with the team will go along way towards keeping them where they are, can't believe in this economy a new owner is going to want to try to get a city to build them a new stadium.

Karen will either have to sell it cheap, or prepare for a long term ownership.
I just don't see anybody buying it right now.

Team is around 4th most valuable in NBA at over 400 million.

If it wasn't valued at so much, we could all go in with maybe $100 each and buy it from Karen...

On a serious note are their any multi-millionaires in the metro Detroit area that can put together some cash to finance a deal that keeps the team local??

How about Anita Baker, Tommy Hearns, Kid Rock, Dave Bing, Barry Sanders, Isaiah Thomas, Bill Bonds..:).

I have not followed the Shock since they moved to Tulsa, so if the Pistons move I am not sure how long I can be loyal to them....(and this is from a man who has not lived in Detroit in 30 years.....)

You kind of look like a vampire.

K.Davison is talking about how she does not think anyone will move the team in today's climate - isn't she the one selling it?

I will be glad when this sale is over.

Thanks for the info, I will see if I can get a hold of their agents/publicist to see if I can bring them together to make this deal in this "Save the Detroit" Pistons initiative.

She may buy the team by herself if we tell her it's a starving child from Elbonia.

How could you guys forget Marshall Bruce Mathers III? Although he wasn't born in Michigan, he did grow up there.

I thought of Sonny Eliot, but understand he's a bit under the weather.

I am quite surprised that they are the 4th best franschise value wise.

If they were actually winning I could see a few of these guys, Eminem, Ilitch, or even Ollie Fretter etal maybe putting together a package to purchase the team.....but since they are state of uncertainty on what direction the team is heading, it probably does not make a for a worthy purchase in the eyes of some investors.

Who is Marshall Mathers? Is Marshall Mathers related to Jerry Mathers?

Will our basketball team be known as the Detroit Beavers?

I don't know how I would feel about that.

OK...this is where I shut up so I can keep my forum membership...:nono::tape2:
