This is a completely different team with Jose Calderon!

Real point guards and real centers are the rarest things in the basketball world. I'd argue that, at least in my memory, the Pistons have never had a true point guard, a pure one. CB was a combo which I consider a different animal. Whether the team can get in enough practice during the season to get Monroe and Calderon on track is the big question in my mind. Monroe has never played with a real PG and really doesn't know what it can be like. Certainly the new kid never has. It will most likely be a couple of months and then out for Jose though.

Monroe did hit Calderon on a nice cut last game. Maybe Calderon will enjoy playing with a point center as well.

I haven't noticed his D being that big of an issue to this point. Over several more games, perhaps it will become more apparent..

3 years $24 million? No way I let him walk on that contract.

If its a 4 year contract that he wants, most I would give him is $28.

I bet Joe D will outbid himself (ala Stuckey) and give him $10+ per year.

Which is why I think he's another Leandro Barbosa, their games, styles and physical build are almost identical. Now before folks get all up in arms, keep in mind that Barbosa played GREAT basketball in Phoenix for about 4 years and he was solid in Toronto; Indiana and Boston don't really know how to use him. If Brandon could do for use what Barbosa did for Phoenix I'd be ecstatic.

saw 1st half vs Spurs...Calderon is not dribbling, beat your defender or draw 2 defender and pass to free guy - aka CP3 but sets up plays type of PG. Rip Hamilton's dream. Knight has nice quick realease and from Calderon's quick passes it pays off. Singler on the other hand knows all about positioning and Calderon feeds to open places to Singler even from improbable angles. Moose dribbled and I like it - although he lost some balls - quick-paced teams are for dribbling face-to basket PF-s.

Sorry about that. I will try to make more meaningful posts in the future. You set a high standard, but that's what I'm going to shoot for.

    Have a nice day.

You know that scene in Forrest Gump where young Forrest has those braces on, and he's running from those kids that are chasing him on their bikes, and Jenny is all "Run, Forrest, run!" and then he ran, but all awkwardly, and then those braces - the ones that had been holding him up and allowing him to walk for years - well, they shattered to pieces and all of the sudden he took off running like the wind? That's basically a perfect metaphor for the Prince-Calderon swap.

So tay is the braces and the pistons are mentally challenged in that metaphor? Frank is a woman. Given all of that, it still works.
