No. Not Sheed. The Pistons are rebuilding with high character guys.

By the way, a young (unpetulant) Sheed is exactly what the Pistons need to find to pair next to Monroe. Seriously, that man had the perfect game to go with Monroe. Super high BB IQ, fantastic defender, great offensive player - unselfish.

Sheed is very intelligent. that's why he'd stay away.

I disagree with your assertion that Rasheed Wallace wasn't a high character guy.

I respect that. Let me rephrase: I don't want a guy like Sheed who acts out on the court (against Refs) as much and as regularly as he used to do. I think that's a counter-productive attitude for a BB team. It would set back the team from developing into a top club in the future.

I would take Sheed with all his baggage today... if he was in his 3rd or 4th season, but at this point he's to long in the tooth to really help this young team.

I disagree with the title of this thread, I do however agree we need a big that will work in tandem with Monroe.... call him a 4 call him a 5 I don't really care. But on the offensive end you want somebody who can create space with a long range gun like Laim used too, and on the def end that can play great defense and be a shot blocker.

I could care less if a guy throws his feces at refs on a nightly basis.
If he can put up 20/10 each night with 2 block shots and some good 'D', the Pistons need him more than Tim Tebow needs Jesus.

my guess is sheed out'a retirement is a likely "mellower sheed" and i agree that his character was one of his strongest assets. if we could sign him for the minimum to come in and lend some on-court direction i'd be 100% behind it. and i'm not sure a little attitude and arrogance isn't exactly what the doctors ordering. but if he comes back at all it's surely to tag along on another title contender, not to watch moths eating banners in a hollowed out mausoleum.

Oddly enough, I think Amir would be a great front-court complement to Monroe. I never liked Amir, and I always thought he was overrated, but he would fit well with Monroe.

Amir is scoring exactly twice as many points per game as he has fouls this year. That's a better ratio than in the past.

He got 8 points per game..........

    7.5 rebounds per game...........

    59% shooting on the season...........

Now averages 29 minutes per outing..........

    Couldn't hurt...........

I watched New Orleans vs Minnesota and NO had this new SF making his first start getting 11 points in 27 minutes while playing stellar D. He didn't hog the ball or look like the world was about to end everytime a teammate missed a shot or passed another player and NO doesn't even have to pay his salary! I'd love to have a guy like this on the team. I think his name was Dajuan Summers.

The encouraging part, I guess, is that now we know that when Tayshaun works with these young fellas, they become good well rounded players.

Summers never showed a lot of interest in mixing it up inside the paint. I guess that Tayshaun really did have an influence on him.

Too bad. That kid is talented.

Yup. Amir had/has game, what he lacked/lacks is consistency. Doesn't bring it 82 games a year. Marcus Camby is another great big to pair with Monroe, ironically the kid at Kentucky seems to be made in the mold of Marcus Camby.
