Just heard about it from a Kings fan I went to college with - - their blogs/beat-writers were reporting that, according to him.
Slow down Wiggles.
He didn't pick the greek guy, traded Monroe for the 5th pick in this stellar draft or any of Blues other great ideas. He blew it.
Just in retrospect, how would we have felt about the 5th pick in this draft and no Monroe?
I came on a half hour ago and saw that the seating room on the forum was at full capacity. I was like WTF is going on here. So I go to the Pistons forum and found my answer. Josh Smith. WOW!! But That wasn't my only "WTF". I couldn't believe I was seeing this thread. Hey, I was trashing Dumards myself a month ago, but good lord give the man great big kudos here. Oh well, you can't please everyone. It's great to see this level of excitement here. It's been a very long time since Ive seen this. What's all this speculation about Monroe leaving? That would be insane,IMO. Good job Dumards!!! I had faith in you. Then I lost it. Now it's been restored. All deserved I believe. I'm eager to see how all of this plays out.
Chh!! Wonderful. Could've gotten Noel or McLemore there to go along with Burke. C: Drummond PF: Smith SF: Iguodala SG: McLemore PG: Burke
I'm done wasting my time talking to you Panda. Sorry.
We already have "A Noel" in Drummond, well, Drummond is better from my point of view. But we already have a good, athlethic big who can defend and CAN'T SHOOT. Because that is what Noel is, the kid just can't sink a shot. We talk all the time about how we need a PF who stretches the floor so Drummond can dominate big time in the paint.. and you want to draft a guy who si probably not ready in his first year because of the injury and all that, besides the fact that he is not a good shooter, at least, at this time???? (Maybe he develops a shot sometime in the future, or maybe not). McLemore would have been stuck behind Iguodala and Kevin Martin in your "ideal roster" ______________________________ Clearly, Iguodala didn't want to come here. That's a fact. He wanted to go to a winner. Denver offered him more money than Golden State and he didn't took it. Kevin Martin is useless in our team. I never liked him, never will. I understand you like him. I don't liked him, so we will never going to convinced one another. So, it's no use in arguing about that. Drafting Caldwell Pope is saying Dumars has faith in what Mo Cheeks can do with Brandon Knight to make him a point guard. Maybe is the kind of thing that you need from "upstairs" to understand that the boss have faith in you. Who knows? Maybe it will work. I have faith in that project. More now with Sheed on the team. Everybody knows that I don't like Will Bynum, so It's not a good sign, in my point of view. But following the logic about Dumars having lots, lots, lots of faith in Knight, signing, I don't know, Collison, or Teague would be like confusing, Knight might feel like he is not trusted THAT much. So, Bynum knows his place in the team, Knight knows Bynum. I Like Peyton Siva, so, I expect him to make the team and eventually steal Will Bynum's minutes. For me, at least for now, it's not a bad free agency for Dumars.. FOR NOW. I can think of worse free agency periods in the recent years.
I'd have taken McLemore. Negating the need for Martin. C: A. Drummond, S. Kravtsov PF: J. Smith, J. Jerebko, T. Mitchell SF: A. Iguodala, K. Middleton SG: B. McLemore, K. Singler, K. English PG: T. Burke, B. Knight, P. Siva Still about 10 mil in cap space to use there too. Nice try. That'd be a sick place to be right now.
You traded Monroe? Let's wait and see.. it's 2 players in that initial roster that you don't know how they will play. Not you, not me, not anybody. Let's wait and see and talk about this in april 2014. Then we'll be able to say if Joe D. screwed up the 2013 off-season or not.
you're the one who started talking to me about it pal
Jeez mate. Calm down. Its not an attack on you personally, just a discussion. Total waste of a really good trade piece, to be honest. Nothing we picked up would have been nearly as productive as Monroe, and that's a fact. Would have taken McLemore for sure.
Why would you pick McLemore over the greek fugitive?
How did you end up with two lottery picks this year? You trade Monroe for one of those? Just curious.
Yes Walter, he did trade Monroe for the 5th pick. And grabbed either Noel or McLemore with that pick. I think that if you go with that trade offer to Sacramento, they will do it. I mean, if you said to them :"Hey, What about Monroe for McLemore?" .. The Kings would have Cousins and Monroe, 2 of the mos promising big men in the league. They are entering their 4th year in the league. They'll pull the trigger right away. I won't give Monroe away like that. He has a lot more to offer to us yet. And Blueadams, all I was trying to say is that you can't blame Dumars nor anybody if you haven't watch not even 1 month of this current roster on action all together. Let's wait and see.
Thanks SJ. Must've missed that one. I agree that Kings would do that (Monroe for McLemore) in a heartbeat. The two have styles different enough that they wouldn't be redundant.
