I haven't seen all of the games but isn't this the first complete game by a Tiger pitcher this season? I just knew JL was going to pull JV after the walk but looks like he finally came to his senses and let somebody finish a game. Verlander looking good in his last 3 starts.
Thanks for sharing....what's with a guy videotaping his TV though??...although their voices of amazement were funny.
Hopefully you all will get to hear the call on Tigers Radio. It was awesome. But this is why I recommend MLB.TV.com. For $14.99 a month, not only do u get EVERY TV and radio broadcast of EVERY gameBUT u can replay a previous broadcast or highlight. I had the Cleveland feed last night and the camera angle of the ball headed to Granderson was classic!!! "HOME RUN SIZEMORE!...NOOOO!"... hahahhahahhahahhaaThe Official Site of The Detroit Tigers | tigers.com: Homepage
Another shutout tonight, this time for Jackson. Get him and Verlander on roll with Gallarraga and then throw Zach in there and they can get win 90 games this year..
Pistons get swept by Cavs last month, Tigers return the favor by sweeping the Indians this weekend. Not the same, but we will take it..
TIGERS REVIEW: TIGERS ARE 17-13 WHICH is about the type of record a team with their skills sould be at right about now. That is a pace for a 85-65 record after 150 games. The key is what they do in the other 12 games. 6-6 gives them 91 wins which is what they'll need to win the division. So pay attention to 12 games that maybe we should have lost that we won(like the Grandy catch) or games against a 1-5 pitcher that we lose. TIGER NOTES: - Tigers have a team 3.84 ERA(second to KC) and getting better. Three guys I see getting ONLY better are Verlander, Jackson and Porcello. Gallaraga is in a minislump but except for giving up 5 runs in the first inning of his last start, he still gives us a good 6 inning starter. Willis is the wild card. Those 12 games that can go either way may have Willis' neme all over it. If not, safety valves Miner and Robertson need to steal a couple. - Middle relief is atrocious. Bonine, Rapada, Lyons and Robertson scare no one. We need to get 6 good innings from our starters , so we can get to the one inning guys. - The holders and closers. Could be the best in baseball outside Boston. Seay is the lefty guy, Perry and Zumaya(who looks great) can give you 2 innings every other night and all Rodney has to do is be better than Todd Jones. He has yet to BLOW a save this year (and he will..nobody's perfect-save Gagne and last year, Lidge) but his stuff has still been 97mph. - Offense has not been good, but good enough. Thames, Guillen and Maggs have combined for 2 home runs , 6 doubles and just 20 rbi's. Its a good thing Inge came out strong and the lower 4 batters have been excellent. I expect a trade (Adam Dunn?) will be needed to protect Cabrera later in August. Gran-Anderson is a lethal speed combo(didnt we say this was needed the last two years) and Polanco needs to hit .333. As long as Leyland dont outmange himself, we should be good for 90-72. APRIL PLAYER OF THE MONTH: INGE APRIL PITCHER OF THE MONTH: GALLARAGA
