He redeemed himself with a strike throw put out at the plate the next inning, but the damage (tying run) had already occurred. (Still again with the second guessing here) if he had started Friday and Saturday vs the Sox instead of Guillen or Thames, yesterdays game may have never been played.
I guess I should have made the Tiger Woods announcement in here a few days ago. I didn't realize he had his own thread already. My apologies.
Placido Polanco to the Phillies. What a solid player and true professional this guy was for the Tigers. I know there is a great prospect coming up in the system (Sizemore). This still seems like a big loss to the Detroit ballclub as far as all that Polanco brought to the team. Good luck to Placido!
You must thought this was an opera thread too http://www.pistonsforum.com/tigers-baseball/10811-thanks-everything-placido.html
I saw that thread, but Darth posted over there. I know Darth is a big Phillies fan and I didn't want to tell him what a great player they will be getting.
Tigers swap 2 of their three all stars for prospects to save cash...hope it doesn't bite Dumbrowksi in the arse next season. Jackson could have been another Verlander if we had worked with him couple more years.... Three-way blockbuster deal agreed upon | MLB.com: News
With all the popular players leaving, it should be easy to get better & cheaper tickets at Comerica next summer.
Scherzer has great potential. We got another arm too. I liked Grandy, but I think the Tigers may turn out to be huge winners in this deal.
We'll see if we get an allstar CF... and a #2 starter out of this... Prospects are great when they become something other than prospects... risky business.
Polonco and now Grandy missing from next years lineup. People get excited about minor league players. Do they ever really live up to their potential, when they have some??? Anybody remember Gabe Kaplin, and all the fuss about 10 years ago.
If Austin Jackson turns out to live up to his potential (which is suppose to be like the next Curtis Ganderson) then both the Tigers abd NYY win.
