Random Thoughts: Can Brandon make the All Star team this year? He is having one heck of a season. Tonight will be an awesome game. Going to need to play some "small-ball" I think. Not a big Guillen fan. I like what the youngin's arre bringing to the table each night. Keep playing the kids. If we can get the top of the line up to start producing we will be able to string together a good long win streak and put some distance between us and the rest of the pack. Does Gallaraga need to miss a start or two and give Bonderman a chance in the starting line up to see what he has? It will be interesting to see how this addition to the roster affects the rotation.
Gallaraga was solid tonight. Bonderman needs to pitch a couple of strong games in Toledo to prove he is ready to return.
A Leyland loss tonight. Why start Thomas (a lefty) leading off when Anderson just went 4 -5 against KC leading off Wed afternoon? Then u have Larish Pena (who will hit 30 HR's as soon as he leaves here) doing nothing as usual AND u start Gallaraga in the 8th inning TRAILING 2-1 ??? Cant win em all
Jim Leyland steamed after Tigers' loss | detnews.com | The Detroit News and obviously, Leyland is as mad at himself as I was! LOL
Tigers still getting wins becuz of their second hand palyers. When is Ordonez, Cabrera and ____________ gonna take over a game for us??
Verlander is starting to look like he did in his rookie season and is keeping the team on a winning note. Just need the rest of the starting pitchers to get in gear and show some consistency.
Ordonez has been starting to show life, but Polanco appears to be even more done than the corpse that is Carlos Guillen sitting on the bench. Polanco and Guillen were going to flame out at around the same time. We need one more big bat. We can't rely on Josh Anderson, Larish, Clete, Raburn, Everett (although I do appreciate the little things he does) and the like to keep producing. We need a stable piece. A legitimate stable piece. And boy, does Jair Jurrjens look good right about now?
Yeah, atlanta SMOLTZED us again! But like I said, Adam Dunn WILL be available for the 15-35 Nationals who HAVE to sign their Number 1 pick in the MLB draft.
WEEKLY RECAP: _ THE Bengals lost two games this week to a team that eventually FIRED their manager, so I dont consider this the BEST of weeks. - Willis will be what I thought he'd be after a 7 run/5 inning show vs O's. I think we will eat his contract by August if he doesnt have a 4.00 ERA OR less in June. - Team ERA IS 3.95 , second to Seattle 3.91, but three guys are over 5.00: Seay, Lyons and Robertson in the bullpen. THis cant happen if we plan to win the division. The Wild Card will NOT come from the Central Div. _ Grandy is batting 4th today. THAT should NEVER happen! Leyland aint playing with a full deck. We have to get a Cabrera protector. - Tigers have the best role players in the AL. - Porcello and Verlander went 10-0 with 1.51 ERA in May, Along with Jackson's 2.55 ERA thats a solid 3 incomparable in Baseball right now. But Porcello will slow down eventually , so we need Bonderman, Galarraga and Miner to step up this year. - Magga has turned into Ordonez-lite. The worst 16 game hitting streak Ive ever seen.
Jeremy Bonderman threw eight shutout innings in another rehab start for Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Bonderman, on the disabled list since the beginning of the season because of right shoulder surgery, allowed six hits and struck out five in a 6-0 victory over the Charlotte Knights.- The detroit News Bondy as a 4th starter? Or trade bait? Hmmmmmm
All the talk around town is about Verlander and Jackson. Porcello is getting zero run for his acheivements so far. We have a three headed monster right now and Bonderman may still find a way to crack the rotation. They said that Bonderman's injury happened over time and that he really didn't notice he was hurt but after the surgery it felt like night and day to him. Can't wait to see how this plays out. I just don't see him coming out of the pen.
