Nice win in the night cap by the Tigers who despite leaving runners on in nearly every inning not only managed to get 7 runs, but Bondy turned in a good performance too get the Chisux to ground into at least three DP.

Hopefully Scherzer can put together a good outing tomorrow to silence Ozzie for a couple of nights

Jim Leyland needs to be fired immediately....case in point...today in the 8th inning, with the Tigers down 2-1, the Sox pitcher walks Damon and Cabrera and the Tigers have two on with no outs. Instead of either pinch hitting for Boesch or telling to try to lay down a sacrifice bunt, he lets him swing away and indeed he did striking out on three pitches. Peralta then grounds into a double play to end the inning.

Numerous ops blown yesterday with nearly 10 men left on base and many in scoring position, but all of the Tigers get out of the game is 1 run. No power in the lineup at all .

Same old stuff today with several men left on base and but they finally get two homers including a tying dinger in the bottom of the ninth. Unfortunately the offense dies after that and JL once again lets Valverde pitch more than one inning and he collapses in the 11th giving up two runs that proved to be the difference.

Boesch needs to be sent back to the minors, sat down for a week or moved from behind Cabrera. Otherwise, teams will walk Miggy just to get to the free swinging Boesch who probably has not walked since the all star game... he is batting 8 for 80 since the break.....

They are now 9 games back (losing 6-4) and I am predicting when the season is all said and done they will finish about 18 back.....Maybe Ordonez was their MVP as they have not done a darn thing since he went down.

Yeah we can use her, but only if she can hit too and with power.....we need some players that can go yard a couple of times a week and with men or women on base.:)

I don't have a problem with Leyland. Some guys are injured. The healthy guys have been playing terrible.

I've always thought he did a good job, overall.

If Boesch is hitting 8 for 81 over the past three weeks, don't you move him from behind Cabrera so that Miggy is not getting walked 1 or 2 times a game to get to the rookie who swings just because a ball is being thrown at him?? Once Cabrera is on based, Boesch is trying to hard. Move him to the 8th spot to relieve the pressure.

The hitting coach needs to take some of the heat too. Jackson gets hits, but still leads the team in strikeouts....with Boesch closing in on him.

Yea, Boesch has hit the wall. He needs a week or two in Toledo. Who do you bat behind Cabrera, though? Jackson is frustrating to watch, too. He is so much like Granderson, it's not funny. Dombrowski really needed to add a bat to the lineup. Perhaps he felt like the team was too far off that one bat wasn't going to help. It really is difficult to watch the team play right now.

Just put Peralta behind for the time being ...Boesch needs a break for at least a few games...going down to Toledo is a good suggestion since nearly every pitcher other than Verlander, Valverde, Coke and Bondy have made return visits this season.

Look at that...moved Boesch to the second spot and he struck out the first time and hit one over the fence the second time at bat. JL moved peralta to behind Cabrera like I suggested, but as of the bottom of third inning, Weaver has struck out 6 Tigers including the 9th 1, 2 and 3rd batters...AJ twice

And JV is allowing runners and runs and barely striking out anyone:yellowprison:

Why I am sitting here through this torture...I am going to see the Other Guys and get in a few laughs tonight...Hopefully they comeback and win this one for Verlanger

Tigers have improved by over paying for slotted picks.
The league,-Selig- wants picks slotted at less than a million dollars.
But small team markets can give good contracts to their picks and save millions by not over-spending for "vested" free agents.
By doing this the Tigers may lose any chance of an all star game coming to Co-America.

    Good points.

Comerica hosted the All-Star game in 2005, though, so they won't be due to host another one for a couple of decades....

By some strange phenomenon, the Tigers have won three in a row...vs contenders in ChiSux and Yanks.

Despite tonights win, the Tigers were 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position and left 12 on base. Boesch got a hit but left 5 on base himself.

When will Jim Leyland learn that Valverde cannot pitch more than an inning?? Valverde was all over the place walking the first run the yanks had scored in 17 innings and had Jeter poised to hit the winning hit with the bases loaded and 1 out in the bottom of the ninth. luckily a DP saved the victory as both JL and JV get out of a tight one. Once again Scherzer pitches a great game and it was almost blown because of poor Tiger hitting and shoddy relief pitching.
