Out indefinitely, elbow tendinitis.
I really like the Tigs right now. With Wells and Rayburn hitting well, there's some pop in the bats. Got to admit we play some pretty intense games with Minn. Even better to see the pitchers knuckleing down. If we don't swoon when Maggs got hurt, meaning the team brings up players quicker, we'd still be in the hunt.
We'll end up winning at least 55 home games. With any kind of good play on the road, we'd be talking playoffs.
Could that stadium give us that much of an advantage ? And disadvantage ?
Good question. I wonder what could explain such a massive difference between home (52-29) and away (28-46) records. Any ideas?
....but there are no more home games.....so 52 is it....If we had been able to go 41-40 (break even on the road) then we would be able to talk playoffs.
Just great, 3 straight losses to Injuns.
Yep they sweep the first place we-already-clinched-Twins and then get swept by the lets-avoid-last-place-Indians... But that was the story of the road weary Tigers who can't seem to beat anyone on the road. And Verlander fails in his bid last night for victory # 19 which means unless he does some relief work and grabs a victory Friday or Saturday, then it won't make a difference if he wins in Sundays last game or not cause he will fall short of 20 victories again. Of course at 80-78, it would be nice to grab two of the last four to finish over .500.
Cleveland was a thorn for the Tigers. Remember, coming out of the All-Star break the Tigers lost 4 in a row to the Indians....it was downhill ever since.
LeBron plays shortstop for them...
I thought he signed with the Marlins. Don't tell me you missed the Decision.
You might be right there...I will take the blame off Leyland and blame the whole second half swoon on Cleveland the same city that embarrassed the Pistons in the 09 first round sweep and upset us in the 07 EC finals. The Lions don't play the Browns this season do they? if so that is an automatic loss too.... (as if the other games aren't)
You mean the Tigers get swept in two double headers in three days??? Looks like they took care of the Twins over the weekend and turn in their cleats and fightin cards and called it a year......5 losses to one team that was 25 games under .500 (Indians) and another team that was 30 under (Orioles)....?? I know the season was over, but don't quit until it is really over....looks like a team that was 80-75 after last Sunday's win, will finish probably 80-82....
If this team finishes <.500 we'll all have to answer to Beer.
Well....now after 6 straight losses, they are 80-81....3 hits tonight and they struck out 13 times...talking bout being ready for a long vacation. Just think if there were in another division race like last season, they would have blown it again........I think they finish last season losing their last 6 or 7 including the Twins playoff game. ...will Verlander's pitching performance Sunday be enough to overcome the dead tiger bats?
Well the Tigers end a disappointing season on a winning note beating the Orioles 4-2 after falling behind 2-0 with Phil Coke making his first start of the season and getting knocked out in the second inning after throwing 45 pitches and giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. Inge hit a 2 run dinger in the 5th to tie and the Tiger punch across 2 more runs to hold to win and avoid a season ending 7 game losing streak and finish the season 81-81... Oh by the way the streak of the Lions and Tigers not winning on the same day will continue into its fifth year >2011 as the Tigers win for the 4th Sunday in a row and you know what the Lions have done...
What a waste.
