I bet it goes to 3.5 before it gets to even. Janice.

Ball was flying last night. Hope BB can get on track and start raking on a consistent basis like he did last night. Much rather see him then Mags on a regular basis.

Don't look now, but the Tigers are only 1.5 games behind the first place slumping Indians.

They just need to play .700 ball over the rest of the summer to get some consistency because everytime they put together a 4 game winning streak, they follow it up with a 3 game slide....Hopefully they don't run into the BoSox or Yanks for awhile because they seem to be intimidated...

They're catching some breaks against weak competition. Gotta go .500 against the big boys.

The Rangers were one of the hottest teams in MLB (just swept the Indians). Detroit went into their park and crushed them (until Dre jinxed them last night).

Leyland is really getting up there in age. Just yesterday he yelled at some kids to get off the lawn...Verlander then told him it was the Minnesota Twins taking batting practice...:pound:

JV stops one game losing streak with 10 strikeout performance as the Tigs beat down the Mariners 4-1. Indians off tonight, so we pick up a half a game and sit one game back.

By allstar game, both the Tigers and Chisox will be at least 4 games infront of the Indians

    Another interesting stat...

In all of baseball, no team has better than a 6-4 record over the last 10 games except for two teams...

    The Tigers are 8-2...

    The White Sox are 7-3...

....and we recently played each other....

Mariners still have our number. Yet they're not that good a team.

Yea, their offense is worst in the American League....except when facing Detroit pitchers. The Seattle pitching staff, though, is as good as any.

Nice to be playing a meaningful baseball game. Tonight against the Indians for first place in the Norris Division. Glad to see Verlander pitching the first game in this series. OK...I'll take a chance...Having Verlander out there is like money in the bank......Go Tigers...

JV is hot-hot and took a no-no into the 7th before Orlando Cabrera breaks it up after 7 and third of hitless ball.

Standing O for JV as he has 11 KO's through the end of 7 and the Tigs on the cusp of taking over sole possession of first place leading 4-0
