Tigers extend winning streak to 3 in a low hitting affair in Oakland beating the A's 3-0.

Both starting pitchers were decent, with Phil Coke pitching a good seven innings to pick up his 1st victory of the season However, the A's pitchers gave up 11 walks including a couple in the 8th inning when the Tigers got two insurance runs to secure the victory.

At 6-7, the Tigers would have to sweep the A's this weekend to start the next series over .500.

What would your ideal batting order look like?

You were complaining about Leyland. I wondered what lineup you would use if you were the Tigers manager. Let's see it.

I don't know much about baseball but shouldn't Pujols bat third or fourth ideally?

Nice effort. I don't think Casper Wells would give Cabrera the protection he would need at the #5 position. Cabrera is seeing a lot of good pitches right now because Boesch is hitting so well behind him.

Maglio at the #7 spot? He's a slow starter. He'll come around....I hope.

The way Avila is hitting he could do just fine.
    Maggs .190, somethings wrong.

Avila will come back down to earth (.250).

Looks like its time to find another starting lefty and return Coke to the bullpen.

Dude can't pitch more than 5 innings without losing his stuff.

He gave up 7 ER in 5 innings today

Can't blame pitching on the loss completely. I saw the game and Rayburn turned his glove into a tennis racket and swatted a sure out into a HR...:pound:

Listening to the Tigers on the radio. The pitcher for Seattle, Pineda, has struck out the first 4 Tigers.

Alex Avila just drove in 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Tigs lead 2-0.

The offense is struggling...9 K's by Pineda as Jackson, Ordonez and Avila have all fanned twice each.

What started as a good week with the sweep of the Chisux, could be a downer if they get swept by the Mariners:yellowprison:

Yesterday's loss was dreadful. Verlander has to quit playing like Gumby without a Pokey...

Tigers sweep the Sox to the tune of 21-3 and then get swept by the Mairiners with a 24-6 run beatdown...'

Should have saved some of the runs over the weekend for the midweek effort...

Back to under .500 and the teams in their division are playing dead too....
