Well after going 19-8 in June, the Tigers start off 0-2 in July and are shut out for the first time since May 31st..7-0 by the we are hotter than you Twins .

Hopefully they rebound and take out the struggling Mariners and Indians and win 5 out of the next 6 before they meet up with the Twins again prior to the All star Break. Mags and Inge should be back to help out in the second season as the make a run to stay within reach of both the twins and Chisox,

Considering that Tigers are missing a third of the lineup, the Detroit Mud Hens struggle to keep up with better teams in MLB. Hopefully the players can come back fairly soon to keep this move up in the standings.

I was hoping we could snuff the Twinks. But Bo9 got the ball up and Twinks rode it.
I hope they don't hang their heads. I'll take another 19 and 8.

Well still hanging around .500. And that's a good thing. Split with Sea. and 2 of 3 from Cle.
Indians had us down 6 - 2 or so and the Tigs came back late. to win 8 - 6.
This line-up has some pop it just needed 3 mo. to heat up.

4 games with Twinks next. At home. then 3 days rest. Then 3 at Bal. Then Chi comes to town. We can come out of this at .512. And we're on our way.

Twinks aren't letting us past them. 1 for 4 at home against them. But all isn't lost yet.
2 of 3 against Bal. and division leader Chi. and it's all good.
Our Dee is still sub-par so if we make the P/Os we won't go far.
All of these things improved over the last 45 days:
    starting pitching
    middle relief
    hitting through out the order.

Finally got over the hump against KC 19 - 4. Zack Miner the beneficiary.
    then we get Chi.

There are still more a couple with KC. I am worried that after the explosion last night the offense is going to go into the shell for the next few games.

Now 5.5 back of ChiSox and 4 back of Minni. Weekend series against Chicago looks pretty big at this point.

Gallarraga had the perfect game after six innings, but then as he heads for the mound in the bottom of the 7th he gets jinxed by ESPN News who announced at that time that he has nine outs to go for the perfection....

Well as soon as you say ESPN and no hitter or perfect game in the same sentence, the Royals David De Jesus leads off the 7th inning with a single to right to breakup the perfecto and cancel the celebrations. Galarraga gave up 2 more hits and a walk in the inning allowing the Royals to get a run and the Tigers won 7-1

Tigers sweep, but Texas blows 8-4 lead to lose to White Sox, so Tigers still have 5.5 games to make up.

Tigs had no business losing to KC to start the season. 180* turn around.
I think they win the series against Chi.
    no games to waste.

Tigers struggled against better competition. That's been the problem as of late as they beat up on the likes of KC and Colorado. But they lost 3 of 4 at home to Minni who after that got swept by Yankees in NY. I guess we'll see if Tigers can really compete and play meaningful games once fall rolls around.

They were 0-7 against KC. But KC came out hot, then the league caught up to them.
    Long up and down season.

Only 3 teams in all of baseball have scored more runs than the Tigers this year.

    Det- 507 runs
    Bos- 517
    Cubs- 530
    Tex- 557

Now that the bats are consistent, our good pitching is getting rewarded when it happens. Gallaraga, Verlander, and Rogers are putting together some great starts lately.

    This series is massive.

If they could get any pitching they'd be really dangerous.

Tough loss for the Tigers. Leading almost the entire game and losing it in the 9th, to the White Sox...
