Does that even make sense? Is Inge going to become a full-time catcher? Who is going to back him up?

WOW! I would have liked to see them get a promising minor leaguer though. I hate Farnsworth. But I guess the management still thinks the Tigers can get to the postseason.

Had to get something for Pudge before he would've just walked away for nothing, I guess.

Farnsworth is a FA after this season.

And I doubt he'll re-sign with Detroit. He had a chance to re-sign before and he declined.

At least Galarraga came out of nowhere as a pleasant surprise. Even with all of those negatives, we'd be in a virtual tie for 1st if Verlander would have come out of the gate strong.

Still in it though, just barely.

Definitely still in it. We play in the Central Division. I like the Twins to win it at this point. They have the Tigers' number every season it seems.

I think the theory behind this trade is that with Farnsworth coming out of the pen, the Tigers will blow fewer close games than they would with Pudge and no closer.

I wonder what Inge thinks of all of this? I forget the name of the Triple A catcher that was here briefly a month or so ago but as I recall he had no bat to speak of.

Kinda sad to see Pudge go...it's like the end of an era.

Dombrowski said that Inge is the catcher for this and the upcoming season. Also, they're recalling the guy from AAA (Sardinha) that can't hit worth a lick.
And Robertson is getting shelled by Indians. Teams are batting .313 against him on the year and .344 in June.

Why Robertson is still in the starting rotation is beyond me...but since Bondy and Willis are MIA, I guess we are stuck with him.....:yellowprison:

The bullpen sucks so bad... Tigers come back from 8-1 to 8-7, then Jones comes in and the next thing I know it is 11-7. They come back once again, and Rodney blows 12-11 lead in the 9th. This is just sickening. At least Cleveland's bullpen is just as bad and Tigers got to Lee.
How do they expect to win anything at all?
