Probably just left his bat in the batter's rack with the others.

Injuries in baseball are frustrating. It's such a non contact sport, but injuries are so routine.

Get Yoennis Cespedes signed out of Cuba......he'll play LF, and put the running slug...Delmon Young at DH.

No they don't have $15-20M per to get P.Fielder.

    I thought V.Martinez was a catcher. He's just a DH.

Looks like Miggy goes back to 3B (where he started with Florida) once V-Mart comes back and Fielder goes to 1B.

Miggy is NOT going to third base! Left Field? He could play there, but there is too much ground to cover.

I expect they'll trade off DH/1B duties. Then, when VMart returns, what???

I don't like the signing ! The conundrum of who should bat 3-4-5 will just turn Leyland's hair brunette.
They found $23M for Fielder but gave up on Granny ? [well yeah they should of, NY was drooling]
What a bunch of liars the Tigers are. Occuppy group aut to occuppy the Tigers.

Nobody coulda predicted granny's numbers for this past season. I certainly didn't see it coming.
Yankees just got lucky. Fielder has 6 major league years in, and has shown that he is for real.
Needs to hook up with Subway though..............

YES! Holy cow is that a gutsy move.

We still have Martinez for 3 more years after this one too I believe. And we have a 28 year old Cabrera locked in.

In the last 6 seasons, Fielder has appeared in the following number of games:
    157
    158
    159
    162
    161
    162

He's the Tayshaun PRINCE of MLB! What a workhorse.

He has hit 200 HR's in the last 5 years. That means that he's due for 400 with the Tigers in the span of his contract. If he did that, he'd be sitting on 630 HR's at the expiration of his contract at the age of 37.

He gets walked more than 100 times per year, his career ba is almost .290, his OPS for his career is just under 1000... the dude is a monster. He already has 1,000 hits and he's just a baby. He led the league in intentional walks last year with 34. He gets hit by pitches more than almost anyone else. In the stat "Win Probability Added" he is #1 in baseball.

Enjoy rooting for a Detroit club that is spending money like the Yankees. They aren't trying to make money right now, they are trying to win a WS.

Oh yeah, and don't forget about Verlander.

Ilitch is a little different than what we're used to from the Pistons/Lions.

I like the signing, except for the nine years.....VMart expected to be out the whole season, so we got a whole season to figure what batting order Leyland will play them in........or do we know that he will be back for the post season?

I expect a swapping of Prince and Cabrera at 1B and DH, and possibly some time at 3B fir Miggy.

I am thinking they still need another setup guy on the on the squad and even another someone to spell Valverde. Despite the almost 50 saves, he still scared some of us down the stretch being brought in during some of the non-save situations. Otherwise, we are the favorites!!!
