Yeah almost perfect as he open the game retiring the first 17 batters, before Ajax missjudged a fly in the sixth and let it get over his head.

Tigers were tied 5-5 with a guy on 3rd, no outs in the bottom of the 9th. Infante struck out. The Indians intentionally walked Cabrera and Fielder to load the bases. Berry bounced into a double play. Very deflating.

The Indians scored 3 runs in the top of the 10th, including back-to-back home runs off Benoit. The second home run was the guy's first career home run. Very deflating.

The first two Tigers made outs and the game appeared to be over. Two walks, an Austin Jackson double, and then a Omar Infante single and the Tigers had tied at 8-8 in the bottom of the 10th. Cabrera drilled a home run to left center and the team walked off with an amazing win.

Yeah great win yesterday...I watched that ending 5 times. It was better than any of the Olympic highlights from yesterday.

I predicted hoped that they would sweep the Indians to get back on track.

Verlander tonight on ESPN vs the Yanks...lets hope he gets out of his 2 game slump...

Verlander was huge with 14 strikeouts (tied his career high and moved into 7th all-time on Tigers career strikeout list).

The Tigers are awesome. I love them. This could be THE YEAR.

Every player in the starting lineup had at least one hit and 7 different players had RBI's... against the Yankees. Having Verlander with 14K's and only 1BB in a pseudo shutout (except for his pitcher error) was overkill.

Sox are 7-3 in their last 10, so we've done well to hang in there against them. We're 1.5 back in the division and we are on top in the wildcard race (for 1 of 2 spots, which would meet in a one game playoff). One strange quirk of this year only is that the wildcard winners will get to start their series against the top seeds at home due to scheduling compromise. Hopefully we don't have to go through the WC play in game, but if we do, it will be a tough decision on whether or not to try to squeeze in Verlander or just stick with the rotation.

    Fists' era is 3.53
Scherzer is 4.73, needs to bring that down.

Fister had a slow start. His ERA over the last 30 days is 1.62. Scherzer and Porcello scare me.

Scherzer is inconsistent and Porcello, it seems, still has more to learn. He needs another pitch. You can't just rely on that sinker. His fastball really isn't a weapon. Tigers need a third guy to step up. Scherzer has brought that ERA down a bit. If he can get his head on straight, he could be that guy.

Vintage JV last night. It was a pleasure to watch. Anyway think the Yankees might cough up their lead in the A.L. East?

Cabrera is a legitimate Triple Crown threat now. Just need Mike Trout to slip a bit in batting average. Cabrera is 20 points behind him, but I can see a rookie stumbling down the stretch. Cabrera -- with Fielder behind him -- is getting a lot of good pitches to look at.

Cabrera is a freakin' beast. I can't believe teams even pitch to him. If I was an opposing manager, I would intentionally walk him almost every time, especially if the game is on the line.

Agree if Trout and the Angels struggle down the stretch, and Miggy continues on his current pace as well as the Tigers winning the division, then that MVP could be handed to a Tiger for the second straight year. Trout can still get rookie of the year and be satisfied...

Trout's numbers are amazing, irregardless of him being a rookie. I agree the MVP award might go to the guy on the team (Angels vs. Tigers) that has the most success.
