Granderson didn't flub the catch. The wind was blowing in hard from centerfield, and he was playing in a little closer than usual. Miggy hit a screamer into right center that Granderson couldn't catch up to.
    Now about the strikeouts....

This rain delay is killing me. I'm never going to be able to stay up for this. It looks like DVR time...

I agree with Woody, Grandy did mis-step a little on that play, but he had no prayer of catching that ball even if he got a perfect jump on it.

It sounds like Sabathia vs. Scherzer will still be the pitching matchup for Thursday.

Yes, but the key is that CC won't be able to pitch game 7 again if there happens to be one b/c he'll have one less day between tomorrow and G7. It would have already been a stretch for him, but now it's impossible. Really hope that is irrelevant however.

I agree. If you head back to Yankee Stadium, anything could happen.

I don't follow baseball (at all) but I read every thread listed under "What's new" and just about everytime I enter this thread I find atleast one post containing something in line of "Fire Leyland". Seeing the intense rage and fury towards the Tigers manager in this thread on a daily basis led me to make the assumption that this season was something between total disaster and failure. However, the reality seems to be closer to the Tigers being one game from sweeping the New York Yankees in the conference finals...

    I like Leyland.
He makes some "interesting" moves sometimes though.

To put it in terms that you might understand a bit better, If he coached the Heat, he might bench LeBron when he's playing well with two minutes left and put James Jones in the game for no apparent reason.

Same flaws. Can't close. Too cocky. Doesn't go inside enough.

Second time in six years the Tigers have swept the ALCS to get into the WS..(got the A's 4-0 in 2006) .:sweep: ..lets hope its the Giants this time that are our opponents and not those pesky Cardinals

Yankees Savior CC was the worst of the NY pitchers....

Have we possibly seen the last of A-Rod in a Yankee uni.???..

Have to give Leyland credit in this series. The Coke thing turned out real good. Coke is a bulldog. Yankees were horrible. Worst team batting average in postseason history. I think they batted like .188. Not to slight the Tigers starting pitching. They were great.

The only bad thing about Delmon getting the MVP is having to listen him do a couple interviews. Wow, talk about really uninteresting. It was worse than listening to Nooke Lalouche's first MLB interview in "Bull Durham."

The Cardinals worry me. But I want them. We owe them one - big time.

Tigers are one of only 5 teams in postseason history to lead from start to finish. they were never behind.
Our MVP was the first ever who knocked in the winning run in every game.

Yea, could you imagine if Delmon wins the World Series MVP and has to appear on Letterman or Leno?

Unreal. Cards in 1968 and 2006. Could they be our opponent for the 3rd time in 4 WS appearances? Very strange.

WE'RE IN THE WORLD SERIES!!! Just had to mention that again.
