Here's why stats are just numbers: What quarterback has the most yards passing ever in his first two years in the NFL???......Cam Newton. His record : 13 wins 19 losses....at the end of the night its about the W's!! Gimme a good "LIVE"game over fantasy numbers every time.

Well, with football, there is an offense and a defense. Newton cannot control the defense. Plus, turnovers are a huge statistic when looking at football success.

Cam Newton was 17th last year in QB rating. Also, you're comparing him to other rookies and 2nd year players throughout history in the first instance and then you're showing his record, where his competition is primarily not 1st and 2nd year QBs.

Newton wsa 30th last year in completion percentage (among QB's with over 200 pass attempts).

:cheeky-smiley-012: Fister never gets any runs, so he has pitch a flawless game....looks like that has been a problem again. Sale never gets any run support, but today the Sox get 4 off Fister

Fielder has to wake up before they get to KC...

I noticed tonight that Fielder had the lowest batting average in our starting lineup (and he's the highest paid player).

VMart might challenge .300 yet before the year is over. Amazing.

If they expect to win the whole thing, they are going to need a key hit a game + 3 RBI a week from Fielder who is probably the only batter besides Dirks to digress since the All star break. First it was the 5th spot that was hurting us prior to mid late June, then the 6th spot since Peralta went missing and now its the the cleanup spot that hurting us.

Except for Cleveland, it appears that the road is rearing its ugly head. Miggy has hit a homer in 4 out of the last 5 games but the Tigers have lost 3 of those. I don't have the stats handy but willing to bet that Fielder has less than three hits in the last 5 games. Pop ups, ground outs uhhhh.

Looks like these guys need to get back to Comerica for some home cooking......where the fences are further out..:cheeky-smiley-012:

No run support for Max so no win tonight ....and a possible loss...

Even when Fielder manages to get on base, we can always count on Dirks to strand him....

what i hate about sabermetric stat loving knuckleheads is this here: Mike Trout and the Angels trail the Yanks 14-4 in the 9th inning....and he hits a three run homer! DONT MEAN NUTHIN!!!!!!!! I cant remember the last time Cabrera hit a homer that didnt have a significant impact on the game. THE ANGELS ARE GOIN NOWHERE and I have to still have to wonder why Cabrera is not the UNDISPUTED UNANIMOUS MVP of baseball!! The tigers would be THE ANGELS without Miguel.....I'm DONE!

Tigers getting the hit, the sacrifice and then the runner left in scoring position...so there is some consistency that may come back to bite them....
