Verlander was not with the team since he was back in Detroit. I would have given anything to be a fly on the wall at his house (or wherever he watched the game) to see/hear his reaction when the bullpen and Porcello coughed up the lead. As a player on TV, you can't show disdain for a teammate. I guess you could but it would look bad. At home, he can say and do whatever he wants. I would have liked to witness it.

1-0 Tiger lead when the flight attendant tells us to shut down all electronic items. Plane lands five hours later and everyone sitting around wonders why I am yelling WTH.after I turn on my phone and read "how" they lost....not that we lost but how they lost. Leyland and his bullpen follies ruin a probable 2 game lead going home.

I don't care how good the bullpen was the night before. If your cy young award winner is frustrating the hell out of the most potent offense of the season, you leave him in there for 8 innings or at least 120 pitches. .then you can relieve him in the ninth. This loss is on JL despite him not throwing any pitches. He over thought the pitching in the 8th and instead of a chance to scare the Red Sox nation with a possible 3-0 lead after tomorrow s game we are even. My DVR taped it but not sure I want to witness it when I return home this weekend.

Its on you tomorrow JV...go out get it.

I was in HS when the Red Sox lost game 6 of the 1986 World Series aka the Bill Buckner game. I was at a party with friends drinking and watching the game. One of my friends got pretty lit and couldn't remember what happened when he woke up the next morning.

His dad was talking to him about the game the morning after and he had to play along while his dad was saying things like, 'Can you believe what happened?' and 'That was unbelievable'.

My friend started reading about the game in the paper and kept blurting out, 'Oh come on, you've got to be kidding me', while his dad looked at him wondering why he was getting so upset.

'I just still can't believe what happened, dad.'

I blame Will Bynum for this loss.

This is who we are. Dre kept making posts all season about collapse of the bullpen.
Our starter looked his best...our relievers looked their worst. Leyland was just...Leyland.

Yeah I was wondering the same too..I thought the slow one was older than that ....... When the Red Sox lost game 6 in 1986, me and Mrs. Dre were still learning how to change the diaper on a 3 month old baby...who is now 27 years...

Game 2 loss reminds of The Pistons loss in Game 2 2004 Finals to the Lakers when Kobe hit the 3 pointer to win. You knew he was shooting and he made it-same as Ortiz' grand slam. A superstar did a super thing!! BUT THE PISTONS swept the next 3 games at home....Deja Do?? GO TIGERS!!!! (Feel better??)

Fox showed the statistics of the Tigers' starting pitchers in the last six games of the ALCS. 4-0 with an ERA of something like .065. What the graphic didn't show was the statistics of the starters vs. the non-starters.

    Nice jinx!

Huge strikeout by Infante. Smart pitching by giving him a steady diet of curve balls.

The only thing that will save the Tigers tonight is the long ball. They can't move runners when it counts......cause the wrong batters come up to bat like Infante....
