I wish Phil Coke would make a "major change in his approach".

first of all....let me conclude by saying...that "B" , Miguel Cabrera is the best hitter I've ever seen. The end.

Vmart is pretty special too. It's a shame he had to sit out a year in his prime. Only 2 players have finished a season with more HRs than Ks since 1956, and one was heavily juiced (Bonds) and the other was heavily pine tarred (Brett).

Victor can't possibly keep this up, but that is the pace he is on so far this season.

I'm sure Showalter thought about it. That's the beauty of having V-Mart right after Miggy. Makes you think twice about it.

Yea, who knows if it would have worked or not, but I would never gamble against Miggy if I was the opposing manager. I would walk him with the bases loaded if I had a 2-run lead.

Then there is no place to put vmart and he doesn't swing at balls. They probably figured it was better to try to pick around the corners with miggy.

So far this year, miguel is the weaker hitter anyway.

Yep they got the win and the sweep...despite the ump thinning the strike zone for Nathan in the ninth.

which is why all those folks worried about losing 2 of 3 to the Twins need to just stop! Verlander hadnt lost to them in 4 years and Sunday Joba was due to screw up. Baseball is what it is.

Just said he had been the weaker of the two so far this year. Miggy came out slumping. Vmart came out hot and is probably ahead of miggy from last all star break through today.

    Both are rolling now though.

Still, I'd rather pitch around the corners to miggy with a base open than face vmart with the bases jammed. End result... They both go yard!

Speaking of stats, porcello has pitched better than verlander for the last 9 months.

    We are just blessed.

Verlander has turned into a different pitcher the past two seasons and this is a good thing. I was reading in ESPN the magazine that throwing a 100-mph fastball is like slinging five 12-pound bowling balls at once. Rondon is a flame-thrower and looked what happened to him. I think Verlander has toned it down and become more of a pitcher. I like his chances in the long run.

Man, JV really blew up today. With 2 outs and a 6-0 lead in the 5th inning, all of a sudden it was 6-5 just 6 pitches later. To their credit, the Tigers held on to win.

Detroit is now 11-4 on the road now.

Cruz hit a curve from Verlander that was 5" off the ground and managed to golf it into the stands. Don't know how
he could even reach it. Other than that one hit, Verlander pitched pretty well.

JV threw five straight curve balls. Cruz knew it was coming. That's how he jacked it like that.

Shows how tough it is to maintain a low ERA. Every batter guesses from time to time and sometimes they are right.
