I agree...Verlander would do better pitching in NY.........
For the Mets.
GUESS its time for me to save my 20 bucks a month......
I thought JV fixed his pitching issues last year ? Maybe he saw what power did to Zoom and is trying to be more of a pitcher than fire-baller
Here are the runs allowed per outing from our 5.5 starters this year: DS: 00001112233346 (12 good, 2 bad) MS: 0000122344457,10 (8 good, 6 bad) AS: 00111222233 (11 good, 0 bad) RP: 1111222334557 (9 good, 4 bad) JV: 022222333555677 (9 good, 6 bad) RR: 0017 (3 good, 1 bad) Notes: Verlander has only had 1 outing out of 15 where he gave up less than 2 runs. Porcello is our only pitcher to not have at least 1 outing with 0 ER. Sanchez is 11 for 11 in outings with 3 ER or less (ace) Smyly leads the team in terms of outings with 3 ER or less with 12... however, some were limited innings Robbie Ray had 1 bad outing and 3 really good ones. I'm wondering if he was sent back too soon. Scherzer has had fewer outings with 3 ER or less than all except Robbie Ray.
9-20 since mid-May...we're really heading south.
Okay whose afraid to admit that former Tiger Omar Onfante is the player MVP of the week? He has been a thorn to the Tiger pitching in all three games. If he takes a break tomorrow, maybe we can avoid the sweep with Sanchez on the mound.....however we will need the bats to kick in like they did in Anibal's last outing.
We've had pottery solid 2nd basemen for a while. Polonco, infante, and now kinsler.

The question is why can't we keep/resign them and why hasn't that success transferred over to the shortstop position?
We had an all star short stop replacement in peralta.
Gone and injured.....lets see what Saurez can do.... he is 1-11 in this KC series so far.....
Best pitching combo by the Tigers in a month with Sanchez, Joba and Nathan getting his easiest save of the year with no drama. They kept Omar in check Tigers finally salvage a W in the series with only four hits.
Did anyone see the call in the 4th when the folks in NY overturned the call calling Miggy out at second? I swear his foot got back to the back before the SS. Two good performances the last two days allowing only 3 runs after giving up 22 in the first two games of the series when our CYA winning pitchers got mugged. Nathan strikes out the side to finally earn his salary. We still need to figure out how to get the bats going as any team that wants to lead and win the division should be more than 18-18 at home?? The Tigers are now 10-20 since the infamous Tiger Jammy outfits. I am wondering if the should put them back on to possibly break this curse?
miggy was out on a count of ignorance........KC may have the best defensive outfield i've ever seen
Sanchez would be a #1 pitcher any place else. His stuff is just nasty when he is on.
Brad almost blew this one leaving Krol in there so long....what was he thinking? Porcello threw a good game through six innings and then Albuquerque struck out two in an easy seventh. But after the Indians manager Francona gave VMart an intentional BOB to pitch to JDMart and he went yard to make it 5-0, Ausmus decided to trot out the second year guy instead of his usual hold guy in Joba. The roof almost caved in when the Indians put up 4 runs to get back in the game before Ausmus finally made a trip to the mound to yank Krol and put in Joba ...who finally retired the side. Joe Nathan was able to hold on to get his 15th save and with the Royals losing, the Tigers regained a hold of first place for at least a night.
Porcello only threw 100 pitches threw 6 innings. Our starters need to have a 7 inning limit PERIOD. Limit the bullpens innings and this team will get back on track. Also, Krol was due a bad game so I gove him a pass today. JD Martinez---if he hits .280 with 15 homers the rest of the season, it changes the trade value in this entire team.. Victor looks pretty healthy and I would always try to catch him in warm weather games, home day games, and vs NL road teams. This Tiger lineup I would send out : KINSLER 2B SUAREZ SS CABRERA 1B MARTINEZ C J. MARTINEZ RF HUNTER DH CASTELLANOS 3B JACKSON CF DAVIS LF...you could flip flop the number 2 spot as needed With Hunter and Victor sharing DH duties, Avila catching night games vs Right Handers and Holiday catching vs Lefties. It also lengthens our bench and we can bring more production from the minors like Ed Carrera a leftie hitting OF. We can also swing a trade or pick up a power hitting DH like Adam Dunn or Kendry Morales (not them-but hitters like them) who would also be productive as late inning power.
Don Kelly can catch.
