They need to check the strike zone.

Does Jackson never dive? I never noticed that... but can't ever recall him diving either.

Yes sir...even the Cleveland announcers acknowledged it on the MLB.TV feed that I got Sunday. I have never seen him lay out on a ball. If he cant track it down, he plays it on a hop. There were two balls hit Sunday, and 1 each Friday and saturday and I believe it was Kiuper who called him out..

nice article on Detnews.com about Tigers poor defensive play on balls put in play

Would Tigers have to eat some of that contract? If so, forget it. That guy is a "money" player.

Dodgers could afford to eat most of it....I see dirks swinging like Drew after almost a year off

Can we trade jv? Other teams may think that he's in a temporary slump. His huge contract doesn't even start until next year I believe.

Don't want anything except for a couple of serious prospects.
Unloading his money is enough for me...
We shoulda done this last year like I suggested.

I would trade Verlander , Jackson , and a prospect to:

    - Dodgers for CF Matt Kemp , LF Scott Van Slyke and RHP Hyun Jin Ryu
    - Angels for LF Josh Hamilton and one
    - Mets for CF Juan Ligares, RHP Zach Wheeler, and prospects
    - Miami for Giancarlo Stanton straight up

JV is still one of the best right-handed pitchers on the planet. Sure, he's had a few struggles as of late, but to give him away for nothing is ludicrous.

I'd keep him awhile too. He and Miggy are still the faces of the franchise and part of the three straight MVP's the Tigers have earned.....despite no rings..

But if were able to add another strong reliever and a 35/90 HR/RBI under 28 years, I'd be willing to send JV and Kate...

When I compare him and his salary to a couple of serious prospects and their salaries...I'd go with the trade. History will decide this disagreement.

BTW...How many wins for JV this season??

I'll say JV ends up 16-12 on the season.

He will go 4-2 in the playoffs.
