So I guess no Austin Jackson appreciation thread forthcoming from oldschool... :)
Getting 8 innings from Price is a plus...however the way the bullpen is performing. ..we need a few complete games to get this party started.
I still think Sanchez should be the bull pen ace, come playoff time. Who can trust Soria, Coke, AA and Nathan?

I trust VETERANS, Brutha Dre, especially vets who have DONE IT before. Soria, Joba and Nathan will be fine when it counts most-TRUST ME! this team reminds me of 2004 Pistons. ALl year long we fussed about Larry, Billups and the bench UNTIL we got RASheed WALLACE from atlanta-and it changed OUR LIVES!! Price will have that SAME impact.

I think we sign Max next year and move JV.
AJack made the Granny loss much more bearable. For a 1/3 the price [no pun intended]

I am quoting my self from July 6th after David Price handcuffed us into the 8th inning with a Rays win over the tigers.. I guess one of Dombroski's aides reads the forum too......It may have even been JL, since I saw him sitting in the box today with Dombro after the trade was announced. Meanwhile Jackson has a chance to pinch hit in tonight's game between the Indians and Mariners since his new team was just a few miles away playing in Cleveland.

But who would want JV's contract? I think Scherzer is gone.

I'm stoked about this deal!! We are lucky to have a great GM running the Tigers who is making quality moves in a clear attempt to win now.

Who gets left out of a 4 man playoff rotation now?

Porcello or sanchez, right? That would be crazy to leave off a guy who is almost leading baseball in wins. Sanchez had the low era.

Do you bring one out of the bullpen?

At this point, you gotta move verlander to the pen in a series I think.

Hard to believe Justin is the weak link in the rotation.

Maybe split up JV and Sanchez in the games and have porcello be there sole reliever

We have to cross the bridges 'when' we get to it! a stranger blend of optimism and pessimism I haven't seen in all England.

Ain't no way Verlander does any relief pitching. Not at that salary.

Never say never or this case "ain't no way"

Lest we forget that two time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum who makes $17M per year compared to JV's $20M...did bullpen duty in the 2012 world series and held our beloved Tigers in check in game 1 striking out five of the seven tigers he faced in relief. That the same game 1 that JV lost....and it set the stage for the Giants sweep......

It's all about the team when it comes to world series and where you fit in best.....Mickey Stanley played SS in 1968 so that the old proKaline could provide senior leadership in the out field with Norhtrup and Horton.....and it paid off.....

When it's all said and done, Verlander will be ready to start come playoff time. He looked solid tonight.

You bring porcello out of the pen or sanchez? It's a crazy dilemma.

It's definitely a good problem to have. There is a lot of season left. Perhaps someone really stinks it up or gets injured in August. If not, Ausmus will have to make some tough decisions.
