Doubleheader today (Remember when they INTENTIONALLY used to schedule quite a few of these when they made the schedule)? We need a victory. Anything less than a split and that big ole' strangling monster that's been looming in the shadows is going to finally stick his head out. The Twins lost last night while we were idle so that's good. Go Get em' Tigers!
Pitching Matchups: Wednesday: Nate Robertson vs. Chien-Ming Wang Wednesday: Wil Ledezma vs. Randy Johnson Thursday: Jeremy Bonderman vs. Jaret Wright Hopefully Ledezma has a good game like he did in his first start...
First game. 0-0 after four innings. Why is it I see a 1-0 and 4-3 loss in the cards for today? Please let us win one game. Please! :fingerscr
Now it's a 2-0 game in the 7th. Wang is getting all ground ball outs, right to him. The Tigers have only hit a couple balls out of the infield and only have two hits. It's making me mad...
Bats silent so far today as the tigs lose 2-0. Maybe the two days off hurt them.:( Lets hope they wake up for the night cap.
2nd game. Wow. Monroe hit a 3 run shot into the seats with 2 on and 2 out and the Tigers down 1 run in the 9th. Tigers up 5-3 in the 9th still. Hang on fellas.
What looked like a night of doom for the Detroit sports teams (Shock )was saved by the 3 run shot by Monroe. This team lives by it's pitching and HR ball. It's hard for them to scratch out runs so the long ball get them out of trouble.
Yep. What a clutch homer by Monroe. I was watching 30 days because I thought the game was over, and I changed it back, and the Tigers had a 5-3 lead. The Tigers really needed that game though. And it looks like The sox and Twins are going to lose lose!
"As the ball sailed high over him, Derek Jeter didn't even turn around at shortstop. He just dropped his head between his legs and swiped the infield dirt with his hands". http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap;_ylt=AiHfKztpUhIQAGCsW8FRjDI5nYcB?gid=260830310
Bosox must be thinkin', "Why can't we hold them to 5 runs over 2 games"? KC got Twinkies 4 to 3. Die Twinkies Die!!!
Unfortunately, the ChiSox came back and won, too. But what a huge pick-the Tigers-up from Monroe last night. I hope Bondy is on today. And how about Leyland bringing in Andrew Miller to pitch in the 8th in the first game? Leyland has rocks as big as beach balls.
can somebody explain why Neifi Perez seems to get to play so much more than Omar Infante. I really don't know much about this game. But it always seems that Infante plays better...
Well another loss for the Tigers as the big unit shut the tigers down with the excpetion of 3 homers. The month of August was not good for the Tigers and we can only hope that the bats wake up in September and they play better than .500 ball. I am not even sure if 14-14 will be enough to secure them that playoff spot at this time unless the Sox and Twins beat up each other and have multiple games with the A's and Yankees left on schdule. Even the Mets have now surpassed the Tigers as the team with the best record. We didn't expect the Tigers to be in the thick of things, but to lead the majors for the last 4 months and to see it crumbling before our eyes is almost as disappointing as seeing the Pistons collapse in the playoffs 3 months ago. The Yankees looked beatable, but except for the homers, we could not get any rallies going to get any runs. Too many ground outs or strikeouts. In the end, this maybe a subway series with the Yanks and Mets in the fall classic:(
Frickin' Neifi blew at least 2 plays today. I thought he was a 2sd baseman anyway. Where was Guillen? At least we put a scare in them with the late inning power.
August is known to be a tough month for baseball teams, and I remember looking ahead to the Tigers schedule for August and thinking it was going to be a bear. At a glance, it lightens up somewhat in September and the Twins and Sox appear to have a tougher road. That being said, nothing is guaranteed and we still need to play well. We'll see what happens.
