I think you are right. Look at the Bulls. You have a team that I think is tanking. They didn't make an attempt to resign BG while looking ahead to sign D Wade next year. They had an exciting playoff series against the Celts and all that team chemistry is now gone.

We know from the last few complacent Pistons seasons how contagious this apathy becomes.

Should have been coaching the last 3-4 years given the alternatives.

You know, some of Joe's best moments as a GM have come as a result of what didn't happen, losing out on signing Chris Webber in free agency back in the day, not being able to sign Grant Hill to an extension, his latest lucky debacle: not being able to come to terms with Avery Johnson (or Doug Collins) and settling on Q..........Maybe we should judge Joe by what he fails to get done.

Wow. Forgot about the Doug Collins thing. What a mistake that would have been. All we'd be hearing about is all the drama about how he might have made a mistake and misses announcing. His hair would have been bleached, dyed jet black, and bleached again already.

Rax, it seems like you are saying that the collective opinion of the forum was wrong. While it's possible, it has never happened before. A more likely explanation is that Kuester is a puppet for Bill Laimbeer, who has been coaching the Pistons remotely from the Minnesota lockerroom.

I think you should send for freep.com a complaint why they fail to credit the RIGHT coach...

Rax, you are PF.com, so before you criticize PF.com, remember you are criticizing yourself. :)

Remember Joe's first major deal in 2000 was to acquire AI but it was blocked by a trade clause in Matt Gieger's contract who was part of a 4 team deal between the Pistons, Sixers, Hornets and Lakers. The big unknown is what we would have done with a much younger AI then what we got last year???

His second deal happen that same summer when he was forced into a S & T deal that swapped Ghill for Ben and Chucky. We know where that deal took us...as both have come back home this fall.

The USSR never showed as little ideological discipline as we have here! This place is like a herd of cats.

We'll give you a window to jump out of when the time is right! ;)

Not all of us. I remember predicting that coach Q was going to be here longer than any coach we've had since Chuck Daly.

Like Mercury pointed out, only certain people who thought they could personally do a better job than coach Q were really ranting about the choice. Please don't lump us all into one group...particularly that one. ;)

For the record I thought it was a solid hire. No way I wanted Avery Johnson. Better to try someone who is new than someone who has already tried and failed.

Joe put in the research just like he did with the Carlisle hire.

    BTW - Don't tank.
