...in all of sports. Guess who ranked #3? :)

    Top 10 intimidating teams

I find it a crying shame the writer left Rick Mahorn unmentioned in favor of Darryl Dawkins

Always loved Zeke's critique of Laimbeer  ...we need him on the sidelines. GO SHOCK!!!

Great article. They managed to select a Cricket side (West Indies) and the All Blacks @ #10 mentioning the Haka I linked here.

That article was neat. Although they didn't mention it, the last couple months of the '04 Pistons have to be pretty high on the list. When an arrogant team like the Nets celebrates losing by 18, you know you are in some peoples heads.

How can you talk about Daryl Dawkins and NOT Rick Mahorn when referring to the Bad Boys?

Not to mention that Dawkins played only 16 games over two seasons as a Piston. Chocolate Thunder didn't break too many backboards at the end of his career (nor did he play in the playoffs for the Pistons).

Seeing as how the Bad Boys never rarely ever get any national cred, I'm willing to overlook the Rock'n Rick omission.

Roscoe, I'm so glad you relinked this in this thread. As soon as I read this article mentioning the Haka ritual, I went searching for your earlier video post. But I couldn't find it in World Cup Soccor thread. Anyway, now I have it and watched it and it is really great. I like the expressions on the opposing teams faces as they watch. Those guys look super fierce doing that Haka dance.

Did Dawkins EVER bust a backboard as a Piston? If he did, I don't remember it.

But I sure remember Ricky 'massaging' opponents in the paint.

If you like the Maori customs and culture, you should rent the movie Whalerider, which won a couple awards about two years ago..
