Is that like hypnosis or something? Because I'd love it if Darko would make me forget about Darth Tater.
Mateen misses the list thanks to the statute of limitations, otherwise, the Pistons would have three picks, and one on the roster. But, this is some tired summer filler anyway. Watch out Shaq, it's finally Kwame's time.
Makes me wonder if our 2 busts had to be that bad. Both came into the league with a lot of potential. Maybe there is something to that crucial 1st couple of years for a young player. If anything I hope they have learned that players cannot learn from the bench. At least not the ones who need to make mistakes and build confidence. With all that Denver had to put up with Carmello perhaps he would have been on that list if we had drafted him instead of Darko.
Bush: I never saw you on the floor what position did you play? Darko: I handed out victory cigars at the end of winning games
Michael Olowokandi???????? Darko Darko Darko. [sarcasm]Oh how we miss you.[/sarcasm] I wonder if Greg Oden makes the list before 2011. More than likely he didn't.
Where are all the Darko supporters? Shouldn't they be on here saying things like: "Darko has not been coached correctly," or "Darko is getting ready to unleash himself on the world; he just needs the right situation." Blah, blah, blah
To answer your question I'll paraphrase, the only thing dumber than being a fool is arguing with a fool. Darko is not one of the top bust of the decade. Busts are good players that flame out. Darko may have been one of the worst draft picks, but there's a difference. Bad picks fall on the GM, you're picking a guy to high, ahead of better players. A bust is a guy with talent who refuses to use it. Think of Ryan Leaf and Eddie Curry. Even Kwame Brown who's been giving all of the chances in the world, and still stinks. Even if you think Darko qualifies as a bust because he's not living up to his abilities, ignoring draft position, he's still nowhere near as bad as the likes as Adam Morrison and and Yi Lian. A good take on where Darko really is as an NBA center was written by Charlie Rosen. And while Charlie isn't exactly enthusiastic about Darko, he has even worse opinions about the rest of the young NBA centers. Why there's a shortage of quality big men - NBA News - FOX Sports on MSN Darko Milicic (24) has all of the necessary tools to excel at this position, but waiting for him to realize his potential is like waiting for Godot.
On the flipside, DaJuan Blair looking like a major draft steal. He double-doubled (17+10) in 15 minutes today. His 3rd DD in 6 games. I know it's only the pre-season but it's not like he's been given 40 minutes a night. 5 Games, 18.6 Mins, 14.2 Pts, 61 FG%, 63 FT%, 7.8 Reb, 1.6 Ast, 1.4 Stl, 0.0 Blk, 0.8 TO, 1.8 PF That's not including today's line. Only thing he hasn't done is block shots (had 1 today though). Could he become the player Max never turned out to be? Did we NOT draft this guy because we already had Max? That would be a shame if that's the case.
