Combine this observation with the fact that Drummond looks gassed by the third quarter, and you might start thinking about conditioning.

Maybe the problem isn't just Singler, Bynum, Dumards, and all the Clueless coaches. Maybe the kelp and banana magic has run out and it's time to replace Arnie.

This team needs to have a meet and greet and only invite themselves.

Bynum's idea of defense is to shoot as quickly as possible after his man has scored.

(Was going to say that Drummond had never met a pump fake he didn't like, but that's nothing compared to "a man with no arms could pump fake Drummond". Nice.)

To me Drummond looked more gassed in the first quarter than in the third. He didn't even try in the 1st while Valanacalalanalius had time to run past him, dunk and celebrate before Drummond landed in the 3rd.

One problem is that when Dre falls for a pump fake, he's in the air for 2 seconds.

He's heavily minus mostly because he's part of the 3-headed monster that is one of the worst 3 man combos in the league. When he's part of traditional combinations with only Smith or Monroe, he's much better. Smith/Monroe/Drummond doesn't work. Give it up coach. Have the conversation.

The only way that it might work would be if we had a coach that intelligently designed an offense and defense to take advantage of it. Even then, I'm not sure that there is a solution that would beat what other teams are trotting out. The court encompasses a lot of square footage outside the paint after all.

I attribute all of these second half collapses to Jennings. In the first half, we always seem to be going inside to our bigs, pounding inside - i.e. playing to our strengths. The ball movement is great and we outmuscle the other team. In the second half, it looks like Jennings, after successfully "getting his teammates going", decides that it is now his turn to score and starts chucking away. Coach freaks out with the lead evaporating and sends in the bench brigade, leaving Jennings in there with them. By the time Smith lapses into "screw it, I'm gonna just start bombing away too" mode, it's all over.

That was a question that a reporter asked Cheeks in his post game press conference. "Why did you stop going inside in the third quarter"?

Cheeks said something about ...we weren't getting enough defensive stops and it took us out of our rhythm.

His interview answers are what you'd expect from a current player. Coach's usually provide some logical rationale for their strategy to make people understand that they know what is going on and have a plan.

Please note, about 3 minutes into the 2nd half, rather than give our starters a chance to regroup, our bench starts rotating in, and any chance of our starters continuing to go inside is squashed. To point, Singler went the game before last a long time at power forward. See the problem?

That's my point. When the starters stall in the second half, coach should take out the problem, Jennings. Not Pope. Not Drummond. Not Monroe.

Also, with the current roster we have, we should NEVER EVER EVER not EVER, play small ball. Putting Singler at the PF spot when you have Smith, Moose, Jorts, Mitchell, Jerebko and even CV sitting on the bench is the definition of insanity.

Singler came in for Monroe, but Smith moved to PF.

When did Jorts lose his rotation spot. Been out of the country and now this team looks horrible.

Problem was, whenever we used him as the primary backup to Drummond, we won. Not in Cheeks agenda. His agenda is to play Singler, dare anyone to naysay that, and lose.

Go two games back. We ran a lot of Pope at small forward, Singler at power forward. Drummond was the only starting front line player in much of that.

That's what I mean. Last time I was watching, Jorts came in for Drummond as first sub at it was working. Why change?

Looks like we rolled with Singler at PF for 4 minutes and 52 seconds. We were +1 during that stretch. The lineup was Bynum/Billups/Pope/Singler/Drummond. That was the Orlando Magic model, so at least Drummond was our anchor.

If you watch that game multiple times in slow motion, Cheecks played Singler 58 minutes and 12 seconds at PF. In one game.

I have noticed that Charlie V's last 5 3-point misses hit the front of the rim and then the back before popping out. The only way he's going to make another 3 is if he shoots it so hard that it breaks through the front of the cylinder.

Dude is playing laser tag with the rim.

Nailed it! With one exception, Drummond comes out flat on the defensive end in the 3rd......I mean he's absolutely terrible. One of the reasons is like to see him moved to the bench is so he doesn't start the 3rd and he may possibly have more energy in the 4th.

We haven't won a game since Jennings got his hair cut for Christmas...:scared:

Since then the defense has given up 106 ppg and the offense has averaged 89 ppg.

The Pistons are 3-17 when they give up 100 points or more. Only the 1-17 Magic and 0-7 Bulls are worst.

We have the worst FT shooting team in the league and other teams are hacking any players around the hoop, because they know that none of our bigs can hit free throws.
