And there is an anonymous auction for the players services. Only teams under the cap and who didn't amnesty can bid.

Entrevista a Jose Manuel Calderón: “El próximo partido será un poquito mejor” | Basket Americano

Calderon interview after knicks game. Calde is an upgrade as real point guard but i hope brandon knight will play betwenn SG and PG from the bench.
i disagree stuckey at small forward,we need a forward tallest to compensate BK 7 and Calderon on the perimeter.
Calderón assist rate will drop because our lack of sharp shooters, but with more games he will be aclimmated to play alongside the team. I hope we resing him, we only need a Scorer better defender than gordon,Monroe improved range shoot and one star in free agency this year or next at the right price.
Trade Rodney if we get a first and a spiring contract,is a good player but we don´t need more no shooters,no real point guard in the roster,he is young still.
I like calderon in blue colours,ít´s first time Joe has made a trade in sense for money and the future development of our young core, other than mediocrity of last 4 years giving minutes rip hamilton, villanueva or gordon. I prefer Monroe no range than villanueva out of the zone no closing rebout no defending....

Tay and Daye were #1 and #2 scorers in a game!

It reminds me of the game against Orlando on January 24, 2011 when Tay and Daye each put up 20 points in a victory over the Magic. Tracy McGrady also put up 20 for the Pistons that night. Man, those were the days.

A hypothetical situation for discussion purposes only...
    Would you do this?

No, but I have never thought Rondo was as good as his numbers show.... There have been whispers of Boston wanting rid of him all year, and now talk about how he does things to the hinderance of the team to get his assists.

I'll take Rondo if he's my 4th best player and the top 3 are vets to keep him in line... I don't think he's a good fit for us though.

Would I trade for a player with a potential career ending ACL injury with potentially our healthiest and most experienced current player?

Rondo's game actually extends to the defensive end of the floor too. ...Unlike JC's.
And a partial ACL tear isn't career ending. He'll be back early next season (probably at the start of it).

I'm not saying that I'd do it, I was just opening it up for discussion.

Jose might bolt at the end of the season anyway. His ability and the fact that he's an expiring contract makes him our most valuable trade piece.

Yes. Yes I would. (assuming, of course, that he doesn't have a career ending injury)

I like Rondo in fantasy basketball, but I am not sold on him being a key piece on a very good team.

Why would Boston choose to go undefeated after their "star" championship quality point guard goes on IR ?!

He steals assists!?? I actually do believe that to some extent.

I noticed Jose stole one on the fast break last night with his dump off to Singler.

    Sooooo tempting!

Even more tempting...... but, no. That would make Indiana VERY VERY good and we'd be back to having a very stagnated offense again.

The PG position is huge. I don't think Jose is the greatest player ever, but having a good PG can make everyone else look better.

I'd argue, there are no SFs in the league who make other guys look good, and thay includes LBJ.

    Sorry guys.
It's just that Jose Calderon might be the most tradeable player that we've had in the last 10 years. It's fun to look at scenarios.
He's a good player who can help ANY team in need of a PG.
...And with his salary slot and the fact that he's got an expiring contract, a trade involving Jose could be used to transform the Pistons in a big way.

I can't believe that Joe was able to turn Prince and Daye into this guy!

Unless Joe is 80% sure that he can re-sign him next season, I say trade him.
It's a lot easier to get a stud in a trade than it is to try and sign him as a FA.
