As long as they find 30 min for Stuckey, I'm cool with whatever position he plays.
cant find the dislike button.
I couldn't find the sarcasm button. That's the only thing I miss from the old forum setup.
Who lost his job to Kyle Lowry...
on a team run by Brian C. The same kinda move that sent Cnote away because Stuckey was here...a good pg gets moved dont let the fact that he was dealt remove the fact that he is a very good pg
Think I actually shed tears reading this article. Jose Calderon declares that getting Detroit Pistons teammates involved is his primary goal | MLive.com
another good question answer with Larry about Jose.. Frank: On Calderon | THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE DETROIT PISTONS
another Calderon: On Becoming a Piston | THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE DETROIT PISTONS I love the part where he says he says “We’ll figure out a way to fit me in and help everybody. That’s what I do as a point guard – try to get everybody involved in the game, try to get them in the right positions and get the ball at the right time. I just need a few practices and games and we’ll be good.” That right there is what has me excited about him running the show.....figure a way to fit me in.... that is the best thing I can imagine a pg saying.
The fact - Dumars hopes to resign Calderon - says more than words - the rest of combo guards are not PGs. And instead of asking, why dumars did not make trade as it is earlier if PG issue is so obvous - then - in real life it takes two to dance and offers must be reasonable from both sides...aaaand how many Calderon-type PGs are available at the decent "trading price" ?
Interesting quote- “Yeah, that can definitely happen. Without a doubt. Some matchups may be tougher. Our rebounding, our defense, because if you’re small all across that perimeter, you’re going to have to figure out some ways to make up for it. But, no doubt, Rodney is going to be in a position to play three positions for us – one, two and three.” Sadly, I probably like Stuckey at the three better than I like him in the back court.
defenitely, and I like him even better on the Plane flying elsewhere.
Calderon is at the game, watching fromt the bench, and taking notes. Good sign.
The "Dislike" button will come after the "Like" button was hit.
GREAT! Saying all the right things.
Ed Davis and Amir were pretty redundant in TOR this year. First game with Gay in and Davis out, Amir gets the start and explodes with 19 points, 16 rebs, and a +27 with Gay also killing it. If the trade works out for them, that could be the reason- although they gave up their leading per minute rebounder and a young athletic big, Amir's increased minutes could make up a big portion of the loss. Gay is also talented enough that he might change the landscape for other Raptors by making them a little more open. They have some really fun players to watch IMO and it's easy to root for them since they haven't exactly been a competitor of ours lately.
Good interview of Calderon on Fox Sports Detroit before the game. He seems intrigued and eager to start learning where and how our guys want the ball. He sounded very basketball smart. He thinks of himself as a coach on the floor. This could be fun.
Just watched a video off the Pistons' website with Charles Klask (Pistons stats guy that we poached from Orlando- MI native) and he discussed how one of his projects was to analyze the pick and roll combos and success rates for the team. Apparently, Frank was very interested in it and loves P&R's in general. The results showed Stuck and Maxiell being most effective, but not sure when the study was done. Anyway, big picture is that if Frank gets fired up by P&R's, then Calderon/ Drummond should make his year.
The best pg's are coaches on the floor. They need to be 1 step ahead of the opponent and always keeping their 4 teammates in order. I remember during Larry Browns run when he first took over he beat Chauncey like a mule until Chaunce got it...then Chauncey called most of the plays because Larry trusted him as the floor general/coach
Going behind the scenes, was this trade a shot across Joe Dumars bow by Team Gores/Checketts? Joe had to trade his favorite/franchise player (that he'd just signed to a 4 yr contract) and coincidentally it just happened to open a spot up for Frank's pet player to play big minutes. I'm catching a whiff of Larry Brown here.
No, from the sounds of the things Dumars was apparently in the works for the last month with a bigger trade that fell through last week, and then memphis and Toronto approached him about this one. So I think He has been looking for a PG for Frank for some time, just hasnt been able to get 1 that wont eat up his cap flexibility/ or fell through.
