More Rondo reading......... http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2012/03/report-celtics-aggressively-shopping-rajon-rondo/ Forbes had this about Rondo...................seems old news to me, but what do I know... http://www.forbes.com/2010/12/07/le...nt-business-sports-nba-best-players-buck.html
Here is a great analysis of the Pistons trade prospects: http://www.detroitbadboys.com/2012/...mors-ranking-the-detroit-pistons-trade-assets As you might guess, the chances of Joe D making a trade this season are about as high as DarthTater winning a fantasy sports league.
I don't see him staying in Detroit. Would rather take my chances with Knight. Now if Boston wanted Stucke...............oh, never mind.
If BK reaches his ceiling he'll become the 12th best PG in the league. If Rondo reaches his floor he'll become the 12th best PG in the league.
Useless perhaps, but you can't say that Bynum doesn't hustle or play hard. Often it seems he's playing his own game without letting anyone else in on the plan, but he's always going at it hard.
Chauncey Billups 4th season averages: 9.3 pts, 3.4 ast, 2.1 reb, 84.2% FT, 42.2% FG, 0.9 3ptrs, 0.7 stl Brandon Knight after just 37 games: 12.9 pts, 3.5 ast, 3.8 reb, 81.5% FT, 41.3% FG, 1.5 3ptrs, 0.6 stl
that was clean, there was an entirely different direction I coulda gone to describe the play of a few individuals.
Billups 23.2 mpg Knight 31.8 mpg That was Billups in Minnesota. He was getting more minutes in Boston, Toronto and Denver. What a journeyman. It took him about 6 years to truly learn the PG position. The point is that Knight hasn't even played what amounts to a normal 1/2 season. He is playing the position that takes the longest to learn and we are putting ceilings on him?
S'okay, it's the blogger's mistake...and I was probably a bit harsh as well. Yeah, I'm sadly getting used to Joe sitting on his hands at the deadline. It's been what, 3 years now? He's more likely to just make a small trade, if any, perhaps involving Bynum (who seems unhappy) or Daye (who seems to not care).
Brandon Knight's first season: 12.9 pts, 3.5 ast, 3.8 reb, 81.5% FT, 41.3% FG, 1.5 3ptrs, 0.6 stl, 31.8mpg Rajon Rondo's first season: 6.4 pts, 3.8 ast, 3.7 reb, 64.7% FT, 41.8% FG, 0.1 3ptrs, 1.6 stl, 23.5mpg
Hmmm, those are interesting #'s for Rondo in his first year because he didn't play that much starting out. He's not the shooter/scorer Knight is, but he had him in most of the other lines. It would be funny if they traded Gordon (Max spelled it Gordan or something like that for the longest time) for another guy with a name he misspells.
Did anybody here expect more from Knight at this point? Personally, he's exceeded my expectations. I'm still questioning his poor assist to tov ratio... and general low assist level, but otherwise he's played well enough to earn his court time. We gotta grow some talent to get it for cheap and his development is on pace. He's not a Nash/ Lin type of creator, but he does look like he'd be a fast break machine if we get rid of the slow pokes. And I have a personal preference for PG's with shooting range. I just feel like they get so many late on the shot clock passes back to them that they have to be a threat to spread the D.
