    From the Free Press:

On their part, the Wings don't want much from Markov: "I don't need him to be cute, I don't need him to do anything fancy," coach Mike Babcock said Thursday while his players took physicals in advance of today's start of training camp.

What does Babcock want from the 30-year-old Russian journeyman?

Here is a similar article from the Detroit News. But this one makes more out of the Konstantinov comparison.

I really like this pick-up. Should give us a physical d-man back on the blue line. They say it should help to fill the void left by Jiri Fischer.

Any word on if Jiri will ever play again?

Pretty odd that the Wings have lost two very good defensemen in the last 10 years to some tragic injuries.

The team is pretty doubtful, but he is upbeat about it. He says that he wants to play hockey again, and when he does, he wants to be in the Red and White. I remember that from a few months back, I'm not sure if the situation has changed since then.
