Future Piston? Hedo Turkoglu opts out of contract with Orlando | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press
Should Pistons or shouldn't they? The guy's probably going to cost around $10 mil/year.

I prefer a healthy Tay over the MJ of Turkey any day. No way that guy is worth $10 mil a year.

Lowball him. Tay is a pretty strong position for us to fall back on.

Judging from the way he's upped his game the last two seasons and his propensity for getting to the basket on a regular basis...I'll take Turkeyglue over Prince at this juncture.

I might too. But this should be a buyer's market. For a small upgrade, we have the ability to be stone cold jerks when bidding at the SF position.

If there was an attractive Center up for grabs, I probably wouldn't feel this way. In that case, we'd be a desperate buyer.

We need young elite players, turkoglu when pistons can return to ECF in two o three years he will be 32/33 years old,bad way hedo if pistons must win this year orlando, boston, bulls, cavs, spurs or lakers.

Joe must sign player less older.

I third this. It's a good point. We don't need players that are nearing the end of their win now mode.

9 Mil a year is about exactly what he's worth. He's probably holding out to see how much more he can get. Maybe 12 or 13 mil?

I say don't do it. Hedo played terrible in the Finals and it would be a big step back from Tayshaun.

I thought Hedo led Magic in scoring in the finals?

No, he'd definitely be an upgrade over Tayshaun but an expensive one at that.

Recently Joe repeatedly talked about how the league is moving in the direction of versatile players..He was saying this to making his case for drafting Daye...

Turkoglu seems like the perfect fit if this is Joe's mindset because Turkoglu is 6'10 and has played four positions from point guard to power forward through out his career.

The $10 million per season he is commanding is a bit much especially because he is 30 years old and looking for a long-term contract.. $8 Million seems fair.

If a guy is an upgrade over Tayshaun Prince isn't he worth the same money that Tayshaun Prince is getting?

It's a tad confusing to read stuff like "He's an upgrade over Tayshaun but not for 10 million."

Tayshaun is making 10.3 next year folks. Rip is making nearly 11.4. Let's put some perspective on these dollars and cents rants.
