Well, G, it's no longer a pursuit. I wonder if Fernandez is going to ask out or just stay in Europe.
Thanks G. The extended version: Rudy Fernandez of Portland Trail Blazers draws interest from Europe - ESPN
I like that deal too, but only after a bigger man (say Chandler is secured first)
Doesn't matter to me which order they happen in, just as long as they happen Branew Rosta & coach Laimbeer will make this team a lot more fun to watch this season
Is it possible that Joe is trying to go younger so that when he brings Laimbs in they actually listen to him?
You're right...we are totally on the same page today
The news I've been waiting for. This screws Tor out of their primary target, their secondary target- Charlie V, is gone too. Now they're eyeing David Lee.....hah, dream on, if Memphis ended the pursuit it's either because he wants too much $$$$$ or Donny is going to match. I think Clev is going to nab Candace's brother, so now Tor's only chance at a SF is Shawn Marion, yeah that worked out well last year, they need to do something. Now lets see if they'd be interested in our gold medal wearing Team USA glue guy of a SF, Tayshaun Prince, who only has 2 yrs left on his contract BTW. If Tor will take Tay, man we can do some things. That will open up another $10M.
I read somewhere that Lee is looking for 5 yrs @ $12 mil per. Also, Calderon thinks that they are not that far away with Marion. Anyway, good time to just kick back and watch it all develop.
Marion? Yeah that seemed to work pretty well last year, landed them right in the lottery when a .500 record could have landed you a playoff birth. I heard Matrix is looking for a 3yr/$21M deal, same amount of money gets you Tayshaun, albeit only for 2 yrs.
Pistons have no more Capp Spayce to pull something like this off.
We don't need it, I'm talking about GIVING them Tayshaun for Capp Spayce, Toronto has it if they don't sign Delfino or Marion.
since Turkoglu is Blazer, Toronto has no chance than pry Delfino away from Russia. ( Shouldn't be hard since due to crisis many Russian bball clubs are in (deep) debt. Even Euroleague champion Moscow CSKA year ago has 10 mil $ debts and most foreigners have already left. )
It's looking like Hedo might not be a Blazer after-all. Now he has his sights set on T.O. This changes things... Hedo Turkoglu pulls out of talks with Portland Trail Blazers, source says - ESPN
Portland is so dumb, Hedo is only marginally better than Tayshaun and just as versatile. If they were smart they would call Joe and do a trade where they get Prince($10.35M) and send us Travis Outlaw ($4M) and that would only cost them $6.35M of their salary cap. Then they get a SF without even using the whole salary cap, they'd still be $3/$4M under the soft cap. BTW, that move would put us under the cap by $10M, helllooooo Tyson!! Max+AA($6M) For Chandler ($11.85M), New Orleans sheds $5.85M and leaves us enough $$$$$ To sign either Dyess/Frye/Gooden/Davis!!!!!!!!
KGREG I am counting on you to text both Joe and Kevin Pritchard and get them together on this. Maybe they even give us Oden for Tay and Kwame...
After reading that Turk backed out his deal with Portland, it is no wonder The Low wanted the Pistons to sign him. Hedo Turkoglu pulls out of talks with Portland Trail Blazers, source says - ESPN
I'm trying Dre, I'm trying...I've texted, e-mailed, tweeted, posted on their Facebook walls and sent smoke signals............NO ANSWER Too Far Bro, Too Far......
Turk going to Portland could have put them in the WCF by 2011. If the Raptors win a few next year with Turk, Bosh may decide to stick around in Toronto.
I agree, from a winning standpoint it doesn't make much sense.
